Sorry if this is a dumb question but Im so frustrated. I have a whole cart of wedding stuff for my cousin in Texas but I cant find a share button.

  • must be easy (Im bad with tech)
  • need it done today
  • just want her to see the items

How do I just send the whole list at once...

I agree that the missing share button is a huge pain. I tried moving everything to a wishlist once but it was such a slog and took forever to click through every single item. Honestly, ive been super satisfied using Cart To Link for my wedding shopping lately. It works well and I have no complaints because:

  • it converts the whole cart to a link in seconds
  • my friends can see everything without me changing settings
  • it saves a ton of time when i am in a rush I agree with the idea of sharing lists in general, but adding that tool makes the process way easier. Its been a life saver for my family stuff because i can just send the link over text and be done with it.

Man I wish I found this thread sooner. Would have saved me so much hassle.

Just saw this thread and it reminded me of when I was trying to coordinate a server rack build with a buddy across the country. I spent way too much time trying to script a DIY solution before realizing Amazons internal logic for session-based carts is a total nightmare for privacy reasons. I think I remember hearing that Amazon sometimes flags accounts if you try to scrape the cart data too aggressively with custom code, so I would suggest being careful with any unverified scripts. Not sure but IIRC, here are a few things you might want to consider:

  • make sure you are both on the same regional domain (.com vs .ca) or the links usually break
  • double check that items arent lightning deals since those prices expire and the cart might dump them
  • sometimes private browsing or adblockers mess with how these tools sync the cookies I ended up using Cart To Link for my last hardware haul and it worked way better than my manual attempts. It basically handles the session transfer so you dont have to worry about the technical side. Just be careful with the quantities before she hits buy because I once accidentally sent a link with 10 power supplies instead of 1... was a mess to return.

Honestly, I have been dealing with this exact same issue for about a month now and it is driving me crazy. I have a massive list of renovation supplies sitting in my cart that I need to send to my contractor, but Amazon just wont let me do it. I've spent hours clicking through every setting and I am still getting nowhere. Before I keep digging, are you trying to do this from a phone or a desktop computer? I noticed the menus change a lot between the two and I want to see if we are seeing the same broken screen. A few things I have realized while struggling with this:

  • Trying to copy and paste every single URL is a massive time sink.
  • The manual wishlist route is honestly a joke when you have more than a few things.
  • I have seen people mention an Amazon cart sharer but I havent figured out if it is the right move for my situation yet. It is such a headache when you are in a rush. Considering how much our time is worth, this should really be a one-click thing. I just want to find a way to get this done today without losing my mind... if you find a trick that works on your end, let me know.

Ngl the easiest and safest way is just using a browser extension! I have been using Share-A-Cart for ages and it is seriously amazing!! You just click a button and it makes a code for your cousin to use. No messy links or weird permissions issues. It is super reliable and I never worry about my private info or anything like that. Just grab any of the tools from the Share-A-Cart brand and you'll be set! It is honestly a lifesaver for wedding planning because you dont have to move everything to a separate list manually. It is so fast and just works every single time! Love it so much!

Like someone mentioned, doing this manually is a mess. I would suggest being careful with copying links because sometimes they just wont open for the other person. Had that happen with my brothers housewarming gifts... it was a total headache. Using Cart To Link is way smoother. Just make sure to verify the zip code for shipping costs before you send it off!
