I am literally moving into a new place in Chicago like this Saturday and my roommates and I are losing our minds trying to coordinate all the basic stuff we need. We are talking like shower curtains, a toaster, bulk cleaning supplies, and some cheap rugs for the hardwood floors. Our total budget for the move-in haul is exactly $500 so we really cant afford to double buy anything or mess up the order because we are all pretty broke after the security deposit.
Right now we have three different carts going on our individual accounts and its a total disaster. I tried to look for a collaborative cart button or something but I cant find anything native to Amazon that actually works like a Google Doc. We are basically torn between a few bad options and I need to know if there is a better way or which of these is less of a headache before the moving truck gets here.
Option A is just making a shared Idea List or Wish List. I know you can invite people to those but can we actually just check out from there as one big order? I heard it gets weird with addresses and prime shipping if multiple people are adding things from different accounts. Option B is just biting the bullet and sharing my login info with the other two guys. I hate that because of the two-factor authentication stuff and also I dont really want them seeing my whole purchase history lol but it seems like the most direct way to see one single cart. Option C is just me being the banker and they send me links on Discord and I add them manually, but that feels like I am gonna miss something or get the wrong color or size and then I am stuck with the Venmo debt if they change their minds.
Does anyone know if Amazon finally added a way to just have a shared basket natively? Or which of those three is actually the fastest way to get this done by Friday night? I am leaning toward the Idea List thing but I dont want to waste an hour setting it up if it doesnt let us just buy the whole list at once. Everything is so much more complicated than it needs to be honestly...
Totally agree with that approach! I did this last move to snag bulk deals and it was amazing, saved fifty bucks easily! Actually, Cart To Link works great for this—no more copy-pasting individual product links.
