I just picked up my M11 and I'm so hyped to start shooting! I'm looking for a half-case because I'm terrified of scratching it on my trip to Tokyo in three weeks.
I saw the Arte di Mano stuff and it looks incredible but the lead time is way too long for me. Then I checked out Luigi's cases but his website is a total mess and I cant figure out if the battery access actually works with the M11 design. My logic was that I want something premium that doesnt make it a pain to swap batteries on the fly. Does anyone actually use the official Leica leather one or is it better to go with something like Oberwerth?

TL;DR: Lim's Design Leica M11 Half Case Italian Minerva Leather is the most logical choice for fast shipping and utility. Lims is far more cost-effective than bespoke brands and features a built-in Arca-Swiss plate. Practical tip: prioritize an open-bottom design. For the M11, you'll want direct access to the battery lever and USB-C port without messing with leather flaps while you're walking around Tokyo.

Late to the party but I just had to chime in because the M11 is such a beast! Since youre heading to Tokyo in just three weeks, you definitely need that protection ASAP. Ive been using the Oberwerth Half Case for Leica M11 Dark Brown Leather and it is honestly fantastic for safety. It fits like a glove and the leather quality is amazing. The technical design is perfect because it features a magnetic flap at the bottom for easy battery and SD card access without removing the case. This is super reliable for quick swaps on the street! I also checked out the Leica Leather Protector for M11 Black which is more minimalist but still very solid for basic scratches. Tbh go with the Oberwerth if you want that extra security and premium feel. Its basically bulletproof for travel!
