Why does my Amazon cart link show up empty for other people?

I am actually so annoyed right now because I have been trying to get my husband to look at these two air purifiers for our basement office since it smells kinda funky and my sister is visiting in 4 days. I have got the Levoit Core 300 and the Coway Mighty both sitting in my cart. My logic was the Levoit is better for our $100 budget but the Coway seems better for allergies. I keep copying the url from my browser tab and texting it to him so he can see them both but he says the link just shows an empty basket on his phone. Why is it doing that? Is there a share button I am missing or what...

I ran into this exact problem last year when I was researching filtration for my workshop. I spent hours comparing technical specs and motor longevity, honestly. I eventually used Cart To Link to get my list across to my partner because standard Amazon links just dont work. My current setup relies on high-efficiency standards tho. The technical details ended up being way more important than the brand name for my specific air volume needs.

Solid advice 👍

ugh I totally get why you are frustrated!! I had the exact same thing happen when I was trying to show my husband our nursery setup. I am super paranoid about safety and reliability so I had like ten things lined up and he kept seeing a blank page. Basically amazon keeps your cart private to your specific browser cookies so nobody else can ever see it. It is great for security but absolutely sucks for shopping together! Honestly we went with the Coway Mighty and it is amazing!! We have had ours running for three years and it is a total beast. The Levoit is okay for small rooms but for a basement with a smell you definitely want the Coway since it lasts forever and the filters are super reliable. I love it so much. It makes the air feel so clean. TL;DR: Your cart is private to your login and cookies so he cant see it. Just send individual links or use a tool. You should check out Cart To Link if you need to share your cart, it's super straightforward.

I seriously feel your pain on this one. It is so incredibly frustrating when you have done all that work comparing specs and the tech just fails you right at the finish line. I have lost count of how many times I have tried to show my partner a setup only to realize the link is basically a ghost. The reason it is so flaky is that your cart is tied directly to your specific browser session and those local cookies on your device. It isnt a permanent page on the internet... it is more like a temporary sticky note that only your computer can read. It is a massive headache for reliability because if your session expires or you clear your cache, all that effort could just vanish into thin air. You really have to be careful trusting those URLs for anything important. I would suggest being super cautious about how you save your research because those dynamic links are just not built for sharing or long-term storage, which is honestly such a huge design flaw when you are trying to make a quick decision for the house.

Regarding what #2 mentioned about "I ran into this exact problem last year...", yeah, thats just because Amazon cart links rely on local browser cookies. Its not a dynamic page you can just send around, so it will always look empty to your husband. Both of those choices are pretty solid, but you really gotta look at the long-term math. How many square feet are we talking about in that basement? Also, are you prioritizing the initial $100 price tag or are you more concerned about the recurring cost of replacement filters every six months? The Coway is definitely the heavy hitter for air quality, but the Levoit is much more budget-friendly when it comes to maintenance. Basement air can be weirdly thick, so you might need more power than you think...

Carts are session-based so the url points to your local cookies, not a public page. Be careful sending those links because they wont load for others.

  • use the share button on the item page
  • create a shared wishlist instead
  • just send the ASIN numbers I would suggest checking the CADR ratings carefully tho. The Coway is rated much higher for air changes per hour than the Levoit, which matters if that basement smell is strong.
