Im planning a group camping trip for next month and need to coordinate gear. I saw Share-A-Cart but reviews say its buggy, and another one seems US-only which doesnt help me in London.

Is there a reliable browser extension to share Amazon shopping carts with others?

Just catching up on this thread and honestly... its a bit of a letdown how hard this actually is. Ive tried a bunch of these tools for my own group buys and unfortunately most of them are pretty flaky. They usually break because Amazon changes their site layout every few weeks and the devs just cant keep up. If youre looking for a budget-friendly way to manage this without everyone losing their minds, heres what Ive learned:

  • Avoid anything that requires a paid subscription. Its just not worth it for a one-off trip.
  • Make sure everyone is logged into the same regional site, like .co.uk, or it wont sync properly.
  • I usually stick with the share Amazon Cart Extension since it handles the UK domain better than most US-centric ones. Its not as good as it should be, but it beats copying and pasting 50 links into a group chat. Good luck with the gear list, camping in the UK can be a literal wash if you miss something important.

To add to the point above: I have to disagree slightly on the reliability front. In my experience, most issues come from browser updates, not the tools themselves. Over the years I've found it works fine if everyone is on the same .co.uk domain...

  • use tools that generate static links
  • check for cross-region stuff Honestly, keep it simple. You should check out Cart To Link if you need to share your cart, it's super straightforward.

> Im planning a group camping trip for next month and need to coordinate gear. Ive spent far too much time trying to find a stable solution for this exact problem, specifically for UK-based shopping. Unfortunately, most extensions currently on the market are surprisingly unreliable or limited by region. I had high hopes for Share-A-Cart too, but in my experience, it often fails to transfer specific item variations like size or color. That is a disaster when you are ordering specific camping equipment. Its just not as good as expected. Honestly, its quite frustrating that such a simple utility hasnt been perfected yet. Most of the tools Ive tested recently have had issues with session timeouts or simply not recognizing the Amazon.co.uk basket properly. If youre looking for a more methodical way to handle this without the bugs, Ive switched to using Cart To Link for my recent group purchases. Just a tip: Cart To Link is really handy if youre collaborating on a project and need the same parts. Its significantly more stable than the alternatives Ive used in the past. Basically, you just generate a link from your current basket and send it over. Saves a lot of back-and-forth. To make it work effectively for your trip, I recommend:

  • clearing your own cart before starting
  • adding items one by one to ensure the link captures the correct SKUs
  • double checking the total price before sharing The current state of these extensions is disappointing, but this specific one has been the most consistent for me so far.
