How can I share my Amazon shopping cart with another user?

Is there actually a way to just share my entire Amazon shopping cart with someone else directly, or do I really have to move everything to a list first? I've been using the platform forever and I'm usually pretty good at navigating the UI, but I'm genuinely stuck here. I'm trying to get a bulk order of supplies ready for a small community garden project we're starting in East Austin next month. We have a very specific $400 budget from a grant and I need my partner to double check the soil amendments and tools I picked out before I finalize the transaction.

I know I could technically make a Collaborative List and move each item over one by one, but that feels like a huge waste of time when I've already spent an hour getting the cart exactly right with the specific quantities and sellers. I was looking for some kind of Send Cart link or even a way to sync our accounts temporarily, but no luck. I even tried those browser extensions but honestly they look a bit malware-y and I dont want to risk it with the grant money. Is there a hidden setting or maybe a trick with the Business Prime stuff I'm missing? It seems crazy that there isn't a simple share button in the cart view by now...

To add to the point above: you definitely want to be careful here because Amazon's UI can be a nightmare for budget tracking. Since you're dealing with a specific grant, even a small mistake could mess up your reporting.

  • Watch out for dynamic pricing that changes while the cart is sitting there
  • Ensure you aren't accidentally including items with recurring subscriptions
  • Check that the shipping costs don't push you over that $400 limit Usually I just use Cart To Link to send my whole setup to someone for a quick eyes-on. This tool is way faster than a collaborative list and keeps the quantities right. Just make sure your partner checks it immediately tho. Waiting even a few hours might mean items go out of stock and you'll be back at square one.

Unfortunately, Amazon is still stuck in the dark ages with this. I had a similar headache last year spec-ing out a server rack build with a colleague and it was a total mess. You would think with their cloud infra they would have a simple sync link, but nope. Still no direct way to do it without the lists or a business account.

  • Collaborative Lists: This is their official way. Pros: keeps prices live. Cons: ruins your cart flow and destroys your specific quantities when you move stuff over.
  • Amazon Business: If you have a business account, you can use approval workflows. Pros: perfect for grant tracking and budget oversight. Cons: huge pain to set up if you are just a regular user and need to verify tax IDs.
  • Share-a-Cart extensions: I tried these and they were not as good as expected. Pros: quick link generation. Cons: very glitchy with third party sellers and felt super sketchy for high-stakes grant money. Honestly, just stick to the lists even though they are clunky for bulk orders. It is safer for the budget.

> I even tried those browser extensions but honestly they look a bit malware-y and I dont want to risk it with the grant money. Honestly, I totally agree with you on being cautious. Its super disappointing that a company this big hasnt built a native export tool for cart data yet. From a technical standpoint, they want to keep you locked in their ecosystem, but it totally kills performance when you're trying to manage a specific budget like that. Ngl, I had issues with manual lists before because prices fluctuate or items go out of stock while you're copy-pasting. The best way to handle this without risking your security is using Cart To Link. It basically snapshots your current session data into a simple URL. It doesnt need your login info or anything sketchy, it just scrapes the item IDs and quantities so your partner sees exactly what you see. Its not as good as a native button, but it beats the heck out of moving 20 items to a list one by one. If the UI feels a bit wonky just let me know, I can walk you through it.

Security is amazing and totally necessary when handling grant funds! I love being precise with project budgets, but Amazon lacks a native share feature. For safe results, you could check the Amazon Business shared payment settings, but its overkill for this garden project. Its a fantastic idea for a feature tho! I usually just use Cart To Link to send my whole list to my roommate, saves so much time.
