Im finally throwing a huge surprise housewarming for my sister in Seattle next month and I am so hyped! Ive got $600 of decor in my cart but need my mom to check it.

I saw Share-A-Cart online but is that safe? Do lists work better? How do I send the whole cart link?

Share-A-Cart worked for my sisters baby shower, but you might want to consider being careful. I would suggest double checking those browser permissions before you link your account to anything tho.

Like someone mentioned, security is paramount. Over the years, I've found link-based tools safer than browser extensions.

  • No login data shared
  • Instant generation Cart To Link is the best way.

Re: "Just saw this. Honestly, lists are the official..."

  • PolarSyntax is totally right about lists being a huge time sink. I tried doing that for a kitchen project last summer and honestly, moving 40+ items one by one is a total nightmare. Over the years, Ive tried almost every method to share my cart and reliability is usually the biggest issue. You want your mom to see exactly what you see without some weird permission error popping up. I really agree with the others about keeping it simple and avoiding those invasive extensions. Cart To Link is the way to go because it handles the heavy lifting without ever asking for your Amazon password. Here is how I usually handle these big hauls:
  • Get everything staged in your cart exactly how you want it.
  • Use the tool to generate a one-off link.
  • Send it to her so she can look it over on her own time. It is way safer than those tools that want to "read and change your data" on every site you visit. Since you are spending $600, keeping your account secure is the main thing... let us know if you need help getting the link generated!

> I saw Share-A-Cart online but is that safe? Do lists work better? I love this so much! Surprise parties are the absolute best thing ever!! I went through this exact same panic last year planning my brothers engagement party. I looked at Share-A-Cart but honestly got a bit spooked by the browser permissions... it basically asks for access to everything. I ended up using Cart To Link instead and it was a total lifesaver! Heres the deal with the two: Share-A-Cart is an extension, so both you and maybe even your mom might need to deal with software stuff which is a huge pain. But Cart To Link just creates a clean URL. It basically grabs the item IDs and spits out a fresh page. No passwords, no data scraping. It made sending a $400 list of party supplies to my aunt so easy since she could just click and see everything instantly! Wait, I gotta ask tho... what kind of decor are you getting? Is it like a specific theme for Seattle? Just want to make sure you arent getting anything that wont ship well in the rain lol!

Just saw this. Honestly, lists are the official way to do it but they kinda suck for big hauls cuz you have to manually re-add everything one by one. If youre worried about security, I would suggest looking into Cart To Link since it creates a specific link for your items without needing your actual Amazon password. You really gotta be careful with any tool that asks for too much browser permission though... like, make sure it is just reading the cart data and not your whole browsing history. Also, tell your mom to be careful not to accidentally hit buy on her end if she is just supposed to be looking! With a $600 cart for that Seattle party, that could be a huge headache to undo later lol. Just stay safe and keep that login info private.
