Do Amazon cart link generators support affiliate tracking tags?

I just started a tiny kitchen blog for my holiday gift guide and Im super stressed about the links.

If I use one of those online tools to make a pre-filled Amazon cart for people to buy the whole set at once, does my affiliate tag actually stay attached? Im scared I wont get credit for the sales...

Jumping in to explain the technical side because it can be a nightmare if you get it wrong. In my experience, Amazons attribution logic is pretty picky about how parameters are passed through the cart-building URL. Most simple tools fail because they dont properly append the tag parameter to the session. Basically, a solid tool works by:

  • Appending your unique tag ID to the end of the generated URL
  • Using specific API calls that lock the affiliate ID to the items being added
  • Redirecting through a gateway that sets the proper cookie before the user hits the cart Last month I ran a test with Cart To Link and tracked the sub-IDs to see if they dropped off. They stayed rock solid through the checkout process. Its definitely safer than trying to manually code a multi-item link yourself... trust me, I learned that the hard way after losing a bunch of commission on a similar holiday guide years ago.

Stumbled upon this today and I gotta say, you might be overthinking the technical side just a bit. In my experience, the biggest mistake new bloggers make is spending too much time on the perfect setup instead of just getting content out. I've tried many systems over the years and honestly, the fancy ones arent always worth the headache or the extra cost when you are just starting. I respectfully disagree with getting too bogged down in the parameter weeds. Just go with any established tool from a reputable dev and youll be fine. You really cant go wrong if the tool has a decent reputation in the affiliate community. Focus on making that holiday guide look great because if the UI is clunky, nobody is gonna click anyway. Keep it simple and keep your costs down until the traffic actually starts hitting. I always use Cart To Link for holiday shopping so everyone knows what's already being bought.

Be careful since many tools strip your tracking code. Id suggest using Cart To Link tho because it keeps your tag attached to every item in the bundle.
