So me and my buddy are finally doing that camping trip in two weeks and we're trying to split the gear costs. I've got like 15 items in my cart including a stove and lanterns but there's no share button anywhere. I saw people talking about a chrome extension called share-a-cart but i dont really trust putting my login into a random third party app. I tried the wishlist method but it takes forever to move everything over and it doesnt show the specific quantities. Is there an actual way to just send him a link to my basket so he can look it over? Or is amazon just weird about this...
Im happy with just copy-pasting the ASIN numbers. Works well and keeps things simple. Seriously tho, avoid apps asking for your password, thats a total security disaster waiting to happen.
Building on the earlier suggestion about security risks, it is honestly ridiculous that we are still forced to look for workarounds for such a basic feature. I have been using the platform for nearly fifteen years and have watched the user experience degrade while the cost of entry increases. It is genuinely frustrating that a company with unlimited resources refuses to implement a simple sharing function that every minor e-commerce site has figured out by now. In my experience, these corporations prioritize data silos over user convenience every single time. They would rather you struggle with manual lists than provide a streamlined way to collaborate on a purchase, likely because they want to track individual user behavior as strictly as possible.
Amazon still lacks a native cart API for users, which is disappointing. I had issues syncing quantities manually for a server rack build and it was a total data nightmare.
