I'm trying to help my dad get some safety rails and a shower bench for his bathroom since he's having surgery next month and I've spent like two hours picking out the exact ones that will fit his small bathroom. I've got everything in my cart right now it's about 280 dollars total and I need my sister to look at it and pay for half before I hit the buy button because we're splitting the cost. But for the life of me I cannot find any way to just send her the list of what's in there?? I've looked everywhere on the screen and there is no share button or email button or anything. I tried copying the web address at the top and emailing that to her but she said when she clicked it her own empty cart opened up not mine. This is so frustrating because I really need to get these ordered by Tuesday so they get here before the contractor starts work. I'm sorry if this is a really stupid question but I'm just totally lost with how this website works. Is there actually a way to just email my whole amazon shopping cart to someone else so they can see it and buy it?

Regarding what #2 said about "Stumbled upon this today and honestly, I went..." it really is a weird gap in their system. I remember being so happy when I finally figured out the workaround for my own place. I was trying to coordinate a bunch of specific hardware for my current setup and needed my partner to approve the budget since we were splitting a 500 dollar bill. Basically, like the others mentioned, you just gotta ditch the cart for a second. Here is how I handled the cost stuff:

  • Create a new list and set it to shared
  • Move everything from your cart into that list
  • Use the Manage access link to send it to her It works well and I have no complaints now that I know the trick. It actually helped me stay under budget because the list showed me when one of the items went on sale. Just makes the cost splitting way easier to manage before you commit. Good luck with the surgery prep!

Stumbled upon this today and honestly, I went through this exact headache when my mom had her hip replaced. Amazon's cart system is super outdated for sharing stuff. I tried the copy-paste URL thing too and it was a total disaster because the cart is tied to your specific login session. I would suggest being careful with just sending individual links though, because prices on safety gear can jump around like crazy if you wait even a day.

  • You should try Cart To Link since it creates a shareable link of your cart items so she can see everything at once.
  • Double check the dimensions of those rails again because some brands have weird mounting requirements for small bathrooms.
  • Watch out for delivery dates; items in the same cart often ship from different warehouses. I've had stuff go out of stock while waiting for siblings to chime in, so if you're on a deadline for the contractor, I might just buy it now and get venmoed later.

Unfortunately, Amazon still hasnt added a direct share button for carts and it drives me crazy. I had issues with this exact thing last year when buying tools... its just not as good as you'd expect. You basically have to move every item into a separate Wish List and share that link, which is a total pain. I found this thing called Cart To Link a while back and it's perfect for when my wife asks what I'm buying.
