How can I send my Amazon basket to a friend?

So I'm trying to prep for this big lake trip in Oregon this weekend and I've got like 14 items sitting in my Amazon cart right now. I've been using the app for a decade so I know my way around but I cannot for the life of me find a way to just send the whole basket to my friend.

My logic was that there'd be a share link or something but everything I find online says I have to make a separate wish list. That's gonna take forever to move everything and we leave in two days. Is there a faster way to just push my current cart contents over to him? Or some kind of browser extension that works? I'm kind of in a rush here...

Adding my thoughts here because I dealt with this exact nightmare during a massive group trip to Lake Tahoe last summer! It was absolute chaos trying to coordinate supplies for twelve people without a shared cart. Spent hours looking for a native solution before realizing the browser extension route is the absolute gold standard for this. Its a fantastic time-saver that honestly should be built into the site by now. If youre on a desktop, the most methodical way to handle this is using a dedicated cart transfer tool.

  • Install the Share-A-Cart extension on your browser.
  • Navigate to your active Amazon shopping cart page.
  • Click the extension icon and select the Create Cart Code option.
  • Send that specific alphanumeric code to your friend. The technical side of this is actually really clever; the extension pulls the specific ASIN data (Amazon Standard Identification Number) from your current session and creates a temporary hosted list. When your friend enters the code on their end, it automatically populates their cart with the exact quantities and variations you chose! It is an amazing workaround that avoids the whole wishlist headache entirely. You guys are gonna have a fantastic time in Oregon! Those lakes are gorgeous... honestly jealous.

Honestly, it is quite disappointing that Amazon still lacks a direct sharing feature for baskets. I have had issues with this before and it is not as good as expected for quick coordination. Your best bet is using a third-party Amazon cart sharer tool.

  • install the extension
  • click generate link
  • send to your friend It is much faster than manually rebuilding a wish list under a deadline.
