Finally made the jump from my trusty X-T3 to the X-H2S and the speed is incredible but im running into some gear hurdles I didnt expect. Mostly the heat when I was testing some 4k 120p stuff earlier today - it got pretty toasty. I've got a gig at a local music festival in ten days and about $500 left to get this thing fully rigged up for handheld work. Do I actually need that weird bolt-on fuji fan or is it just a gimmick? Also looking for cage recs that dont block the top dials and maybe a suggestion for a solid cfexpress card that wont die during long flog2 sessions... sticking with sd cards feels like im bottlenecking this sensor.
Re: "Ive shot festivals..." check PetaPixel, but my festival experience showed:
Ive shot festivals for years and the Fujifilm FAN-001 Cooling Fan beats the SmallRig Cage for FUJIFILM X-H2S 3934 for heat. Grab a Lexar Professional CFexpress Type B Gold 128GB card.
just saw this. honestly i've been really happy with the SmallRig Black Mamba Cage for FUJIFILM X-H2S 3923 since it leaves the top dials totally open. for storage, the Angelbird AV PRO CFexpress B SE 512GB works well and is way cheaper than prograde cards tho. are you shooting long continuous sets or just short clips? if it's the latter, you might not even need the fan if you set the internal temp limit to high... works for me.
