so im literally about to pull my hair out over this whole amazon thing. I spend all day at the front desk at work in Chicago picking out stuff for our new kitchen like faucets and handles and whatever, and I add them to my cart on my phone. But then when I get home to my laptop in the evening half the stuff is just... missing? Or it says the cart is empty? My logic was that since its the same account it should just show up everywhere automatically but it just doesnt work like that for some reason and it is driving me crazy.

I tried looking for some kind of app or something to fix it but honestly i have no idea where to even start looking or what to search for. Sorry if this is like a super basic thing everyone knows but is there a tool or a button i need to press to make the carts match? I was thinking maybe there is a way to link my phone and computer better? Or like a way to save it so it stays put? I dont have a huge budget to pay for some fancy software I just want my shopping list to stay in one place while we try to get this remodel done before my sister visits next month. It is so frustrating having to find the same items twice every single night. Does anyone know an easy way to fix this or an app that does it for you...

> My logic was that since its the same account it should just show up everywhere automatically Man, I feel your pain. I went through the exact same nightmare last year when I was redo-ing my home office. I spent my whole lunch break on my phone picking out specific monitor arms and cable trays, but when I got home to my desktop... nothing. It is so incredibly unreliable because Amazon treats the app and the browser like two separate worlds sometimes. Connection blips on your phone are usually the culprit. If it doesn't hit their server perfectly at that millisecond, it just stays local to your phone app data. I learned the hard way to never trust their auto-sync for anything important. I would suggest being really careful about using the cart as a temporary storage spot while you are in the middle of a big project. You might want to consider using Cart To Link instead. I started using it because it basically bypasses that whole sync bug by letting you generate a direct link for your items. I usually make sure to send that link to my email or a notes app now. Just be careful and dont rely on their internal system because it will let you down when you are in a rush. Honestly, it is the only way I kept my sanity while picking out lighting fixtures for the remodel.

Honestly its ridiculous that we even have to deal with this. I have the exact same problem every single time I try to shop for my home office and it drives me crazy. It feels like such a scam when these massive companies cant even get a simple cart to sync properly across devices. Quality across the board has gone downhill so much lately while the prices just keep climbing every year. I have noticed that other brands like Wayfair or even Walmart seem to have much more stable systems for this kind of thing, but Amazon just feels so buggy now. You really have to be careful about trusting their interface because if they cant even manage a basic sync, it makes you wonder what else is broken on the backend. I would suggest being very cautious about assuming your progress is saved. Its just so frustrating when they dont seem to care about the user experience anymore. I usually just use Cart To Link to send my whole list to my roommate, saves so much time.

Unfortunately, Amazon cart synchronization is notoriously buggy due to session-state discrepancies between the mobile API and desktop browser cookies. I think it involves how their CDN caches regional data. IIRC, items dont always propagate to the master account database immediately. Not sure if there is a specific app to fix this, but I had issues with items disappearing too. Honestly, the only reliable method is probably using the Save for Later list instead.

  • Honestly it is just ridiculous how buggy these big sites have gotten lately.
  • I tried doing the same thing for a backyard project and lost my whole list... it was so disappointing and felt like a total waste of my time.
  • These huge companies just do not care because they know we are stuck paying their high prices.
  • When things dont sync, it makes me worry about the safety of the whole account.

Just saw this thread and wanted to jump in because I’ve dealt with this while ordering parts for work... it’s a total headache. > when I get home to my laptop in the evening half the stuff is just... missing? The thing you gotta realize is that the Amazon cart isn't really a permanent storage spot. It’s basically what they call a session-based system. When you're on your phone, you're likely using the app, and that data doesn't always sync to the desktop servers right away tho. If your work Wi-Fi is spotty or if you switch to cellular, the handshake between the app and the main site can fail. I would be very careful about trusting the cart for a big project like a kitchen remodel. Amazon's system tends to clean up carts or move things to the saved section if it detects price changes or stock issues while you're moving between devices. I would suggest using the Add to List feature instead. It’s much more stable because lists are written directly to your account database rather than just living in your temporary browser cookies. Just make a specific list for the kitchen handles and faucets. It’s a safer way to make sure you don't lose your progress. Also, make sure to check if you're actually logged into the exact same account... sometimes the app stays logged in but the desktop version logs you out after a few hours of inactivity, which makes the cart look empty. Better to be safe than lose all that work tbh. There's a neat extension called Cart To Link that basically turns your cart into a link.
