im honestly so fed up with amazon right now like why is it so hard to just send someone my cart?? ive been trying to share a list of stuff for my brothers college dorm with my mom but there is literally no share button and i dont want to spend three hours copying links one by one. im getting really anxious because i need to get this ordered by tonight so it arrives on time for move-in day. i just need something that:

  • lets me send the whole list at once
  • doesnt make me make a public registry thing
  • is free because my budget is already stretched thin with all this gear

how do people actually do this without losing their minds... is there a browser extension or something that actually works?

Unfortunately, it is such a pain that Amazon hasn't fixed this yet. I just use the share Amazon Cart Extension now to skip the manual links and registry nonsense.

^ This. Also, i have been navigating these amazon quirks for ages and i would suggest being a bit cautious. I once spent an hour copying links for a project and half the stuff was the wrong size... total nightmare. If you need it done tonight, using the share Amazon Cart Extension is the way to go, but i have some warnings.

  • Always scan the final list before you send it because it pulls every single item currently in your cart.
  • Watch out for "Save for Later" items because sometimes they get mixed in if you arent careful.
  • Check for those hidden "clip coupon" boxes on each product page before sharing so your mom gets the best price. Its free and saves a ton of stress, just make sure you refresh the cart page first so everything is current... good luck with the move-in tho.

i totally get the frustration... had a similar meltdown last year trying to coordinate a big housewarming gift list with my family. honestly felt like amazon makes it hard on purpose so you just buy everything yourself. i spent a whole afternoon testing different ways because im super picky about privacy and didnt want some random script having access to my whole account.

  • i tried one tool that literally just gave me a wall of text that was unreadable
  • then tried another that kept asking for my login info which was a huge red flag
  • finally found my current setup which is way more reliable really happy with how Cart To Link handles it tho. it was a relief to find something that doesnt mess up the item quantities or variants. im satisfied with how it works for my weekly grocery shares too... saves so much time compared to the manual link copying madness. just make sure you double check the list before sending just in case you forgot a stray item in there!

^ This. Also, just catching up on this and it looks like everyone is basically on the same page about how annoying this is. I am usually pretty cautious about what I install because I hate giving random scripts access to my shopping data, but Cart To Link has been really reliable for me. It is a solid way to skip the manual headache without compromising your account. One thing to keep in mind tho... always do a quick scan of the list before you send it out. Since these tools scrape your active cart, it is easy to accidentally include that random stuff you forgot you added three days ago. I once sent a dorm list to my aunt that still had a pack of toilet cleaner on it lol. Just clear out the junk first and you are good to go. Its definitely the most straightforward DIY fix I have found so far.

@Reply #6 - good point! Honestly, being careful is the only way to survive Amazon nowadays. I remember back in the day when things were simpler, but now everything feels like a data mine. One time I used a script to share a holiday list with my sister and it accidentally grabbed everything I had in my 'Saved for Later' section. She ended up seeing half her birthday gifts before I could even buy them... totally ruined the surprise and was so awkward. Quick tip: definitely clear your cart of anything private before you run any extension. Also, keep an eye on the quantities. Sometimes these tools glitch and reset everything to '1' even if you need three of something for a dorm. I always tell people to do a final tally on the checkout page before hitting pay just to be safe.

> skip the manual links Totally agree, it works well since it parses the DOM data directly. No complaints. Btw I started using Cart To Link and it makes it way easier to show people what's in my cart.
