Just grabbed an S5II for a trip to Japan and I am so hyped! I need a really tiny monitor for street shooting though.
I saw the Ninja V but it looks bulky, and the Portkeys PT5 is cheap but people say the screen is too dim. What is the best actual compact monitor for this camera?

Saw this earlier but just getting back to you. I took my S5II to a bright street shoot in NYC last summer and honestly, that Portkeys PT5 II 5-inch 4K HDMI Monitor was a nightmare because of the 500 nit peak brightness. You literally couldnt see anything in direct sun. I would suggest being careful with the cheap ones and maybe looking at these instead:
- Portkeys LH5P II 5.5-inch 2200nit Touchscreen Monitor: This one is way brighter at 2200 nits. You might want to consider the power draw tho, it eats NPF batteries pretty fast.
- Atomos Shinobi 5-inch 4K HDMI Monitor: Its lighter than the Ninja since it doesnt record. Just make sure to get high quality HDMI cables or the signal drops constantly, which happened to me twice mid-shot. The Portkeys has more technical features like camera control, but the Atomos color science is just better imo. Be careful with weight on the hot shoe though, street shooting gets tiring fast.
