I'm finally upgrading my kit for a doc project in Chicago and need a solid monitor for my S5II. Budget is around $400 or $500 max. I've done a bit of digging and the Atomos Ninja V keeps coming up as the standard choice, but then I see folks saying the Portkeys LH7H or the LH5P II is better because you can actually control camera settings through the screen. I'm worried about the Ninja being too bulky or the fan noise ruining my audio since I'll be pretty close to the rig. Does the S5II's phase hybrid AF actually show up correctly on these third party screens or is it glitchy? Which ones are you guys actually using in the field?

Regarding what #1 said about fan noise, whats your audio setup exactly? Be careful with the Atomos Ninja V 5 inch 4K HDR Monitor.

Watch out for the fan noise, tho. I'd suggest just getting any Portkeys monitor instead. Having camera control right there is way better for doc work than lugging around a heavy recorder.
