Which ND filters actually give the best video quality for DJI drones without making the image look all soft? I've been doing some research and I'm kinda stuck between PolarPro and Freewell. People say PolarPro is the best glass but then I see others claiming Freewell has less color shift and the price difference is huge. I'm heading to Iceland next month with my Air 3 and really want to nail that smooth motion blur over the waterfalls without ruining the sharpness. My budget is around $150 for a set.
- Do the expensive ones actually have better glass
- Is the color shift really that bad on cheaper sets
Just trying to figure out if the extra cash is worth it...

Honestly, I was in your shoes a few months back and ended up going with Freewell. I was super worried about the glass being low quality or the weight messin with the gimbal, but I have been really satisfied with how they work on my Air 3. The fit is really secure, which makes me feel a lot safer flying it. I picked up the Freewell DJI Air 3 All Day 6-Pack ND Filters and they have been solid. A few reasons why I like them:
- colors look super natural to me, no weird tints
- sharpness is still 100% there even in 4K
- costs way less than the fancy brands If you are heading to Iceland, you definitely want to save that extra cash for gas or snacks lol. The Freewell DJI Air 3 Bright Day 6-Pack ND/PL Filters is basically all you need for those long exposure waterfall shots. No complaints at all so far, definitely works well for me!

- Agreed. Freewell is solid, but PolarPro DJI Air 3 Vivid Collection has better coatings, while Tiffen DJI Air 3 Filter Kit stays most neutral.

In my experience, color shift is a total nightmare to fix in post. I once ruined a shoot in the Alps using generic glass that turned all the snow green... sucked so bad. For Iceland, maybe look at the NiSi DJI Air 3 Nano IR ND Filter Kit since the color accuracy is top-tier. Alternatively, the K&F Concept DJI Air 3 ND Filter Set 4-Pack is super sharp and way cheaper than PolarPro.
