So DJI Action 5 will probably released in Fall 2024. Stay tuned for leaks in the coming weeks and months.

Most likely to be released in September 2024 as usual.

I will buy Action 4 when Action 5 released. For a big saving ! 🥂 

^ This. Also, looking at the patterns everyone mentioned, its clear we are basically playing the waiting game for late 2024. In my experience, jumping on the newest model isnt always the smartest move for the wallet. I remember when I grabbed the Action 3 right at launch, only for the Action 4 to drop with that better sensor soon after... felt kinda burned tbh. Been through a lot of cams over the years and heres how I see the current options while we wait:

• DJI Osmo Action 4 Standard Combo: Solid low light and super reliable. If you can get it on sale like Savannah mentioned, its a steal.
• DJI Osmo Pocket 3: That 1-inch sensor is beautiful for vlogging, but it wont survive a crash on a bike trail like the Action series.
• The upcoming gen 5: Likely gonna be the sweet spot if they finally give us that bigger sensor in a rugged body. Honestly if you got trips planned this summer just get the 4. Waiting for the next big thing usually means missing out on capturing memories right now... plus the price drop on the older units is always the best part of a new release anyway.

Will Osmo Action use Pocket 3's 1 inch sensor ?

There are no concrete details available about DJI Osmo Action 5. Just waiting for some more weeks.
