What is the easiest way to share an Amazon shopping cart with someone?

Is there a way to just send my whole Amazon cart to someone else so they can buy it on their account? Im currently planning my moms 60th birthday party back home in Chicago for next month and Ive got like 30 different things in my cart right now. Its a mix of party favors, some specific tablecloths, and these gold balloons. My sister is the one with the Prime account and the bigger budget for this part of the planning so she needs to be the one to actually hit the checkout button but I dont want to send her 30 separate links.

I spent some time searching online and found people saying you should just make a public Wish List and share that instead but that doesnt really help with the specific quantities of things I need and it feels like a lot of double work to move everything over item by item. I also saw some third-party browser extensions like Share-A-Cart that claim they can do it but I really dont like the idea of some random app having access to my Amazon account info ya know? It feels a bit sketchy security-wise. Is there some hidden share button I'm just totally missing in the app or on the site or do people really just copy and paste links for an hour...

Regarding what #1 said about "Honestly, planning a 60th is stressful enough without..."

  • I had a similar headache for my brothers graduation. I was extremely cautious about third-party tools and data privacy. I used a list but ran into issues:
  • Quantities often reverted to one
  • Item variations sometimes changed I would suggest being very careful when she adds items. It requires manual verification so you dont end up with the wrong stuff.

Building on the earlier suggestion, Ive tried every trick for big events!

  • Wish Lists: Pro is theyre free, but the con is quantities get messed up tho.
  • Cart To Link: This is amazing! I use this for all my planning. Its way faster and shares the whole cart instantly. Copying 30 links manually is a total nightmare... this is honestly the best way for your moms 60th birthday! Love it!

@Reply #6 - good point! honestly I am in the exact same boat right now and its been driving me crazy. been trying to figure this out for about three weeks because I am also planning a massive family reunion with way too many moving parts. I have like 45 items in my cart and the thought of copying them one by one is just a total nightmare... basically I am stuck in the same loop as you. I have been looking into the technical specs for Cart To Link and I am honestly satisfied with how it handles the data parsing logic, but I still havent found a native button in the app. it is wild that amazon hasnt built a simple solution for this yet. I am just as frustrated and lost as you are tbh.

Re: "This ^" - basically looks like there are two main ways to go here. Here is the breakdown:

  • Amazon native lists: They are free but honestly a headache. The quantity bugs people mentioned are real and its a lot of extra clicking.
  • Cart To Link: This seems like the most solid choice. It handles the bulk stuff way better than the standard Amazon tools. If you want the easiest path, just go with Cart To Link. It works better than the other third-party stuff and you wont have to worry about your sister getting the wrong number of balloons. It is just more practical for a big party like this.

Like someone mentioned, the security side is a huge worry. honestly struggling with the exact same thing for a massive office event right now. its a total nightmare...

  • definitely be careful with anything that asks for a login
  • make sure to watch out for compatibility issues between mobile and desktop carts
  • i would suggest looking at Cart To Link as a general direction Just get any solution from Cart To Link and you cant go wrong, but items dropping off during the transfer are a real concern. seen issues where stuff just doesnt show up right on the other persons end because of account differences. better to be safe and verify everything manually.

Planning those big milestone bashes is such a minefield, honestly. I went through a similar headache for my parents 40th anniversary and it turned into this massive ordeal that I still have nightmares about. You really might want to consider how risky it gets when you have multiple people involved in the ordering process.

  • We had this whole system with lists and screenshots but things still got messy.
  • One of my cousins thought she bought the cake toppers but it turns out she just saved them for later.
  • I ended up with three boxes of the wrong colored streamers because someone clicked a suggested item by mistake.
  • The delivery dates were all over the place which just added to the stress. It was a total mess and we were literally scrambling the morning of the party to find a local shop that had what we needed. Ngl, I still dont know how we pulled it off. Just be really careful because those quantities and variations can trip you up before you even realize it... I definitely learned my lesson about being too relaxed with the logistics.

Honestly, planning a 60th is stressful enough without Amazon making it harder. You're right to be cautious about those browser extensions tho... some of them definitely feel like they're snooping way too much. I've been doing this for years and Amazon still hasn't added a simple send cart button which is wild. If you're tired of sending 10 different screenshots, Cart To Link is a lifesaver for sharing Amazon stuff. It feels much safer than giving a random app full access to your account data.

  • You might want to consider double checking the quantities for the tablecloths and balloons before you send the link over.
  • Be careful with the shipping address; make sure she sets it to Chicago before she hits the checkout button so nothing goes to her house by mistake.
  • Make sure to tell her to look at the specific delivery dates so everything actually arrives in time for the party. It definitely beats copy-pasting links for an hour. Hope the party goes well, Chicago is a great spot for it!

late to the party here but I have the exact same problem every single time I try to organize a big event. it's honestly so disappointing that amazon hasn't fixed this yet. last month I had such a headache trying to coordinate a retirement dinner and I just dont trust those third party apps with my data at all. safety first, right? I really wish there was a native button but I havent found it either. tbh if you want to keep things under control without the security risks, just go with any of the office tools from Google. you can't go wrong with their stuff for making your own shared lists. it's more of a diy approach but at least you know it's reliable. TL;DR: I'm in the same boat and it's a struggle. just use a shared doc from google to stay safe and keep things organized yourself.
