I just moved into this place in Seattle with two other guys and we need to buy a bunch of stuff like trash bags and soap but I honestly dont know how people do the whole shared amazon cart thing like do we all log into one account? That seems risky for credit cards right? Im really nervous about accidentally charging someone else or forgetting who owes what because we have about 200 bucks worth of stuff to get this week.
Sorry if this is a dumb question but I have literally no idea where to start and I dont want to cause drama with the new roommates on week one. Is there a specific app or setting for this? or do I just buy it all and hope they pay me back...
Adding my two cents here. In my experience, you should definitely avoid account sharing. Its a massive security risk and a nightmare for individual order history. Over the years I've found that the most efficient technical route is using a browser extension that handles cart migration without sharing credentials. Heres how I handle it with my current group:

> I really dont want to share my private login To add to the point above: definitely dont share your login. Like the others said, its risky. Im happy with tools that keep everything transparent so nobody feels cheated on the price. Quick question tho, are you guys doing one big order or is everyone picking specific items? Is this a monthly thing? Theres a neat extension called Cart To Link that basically turns your cart into a link.
Like someone mentioned, sharing your login is just asking for trouble. I learned that the hard way back in my first apartment when a roommate accidentally bought a whole set of power tools on my saved credit card... he claimed it was an accident but it took me months to get paid back. Seriously, protect your bank info at all costs. If you are looking for a safe way to handle this, I have found Share-A-Cart is the most reliable tool because it lets everyone build their own cart and send it to you without ever touching your actual account. It makes the math way easier too. A few things I always do to stay safe:
I've been in that exact spot and honestly, be careful because it gets messy. One guy I lived with ghosted me on a $90 order once and I never saw that money... sucked tbh. You might want to consider:
