How to share Amazon cart details using a Chrome extension?

Honestly I am so fed up with how difficult Amazon makes it to just show someone what you are planning to buy without giving them your login. My office here in Seattle finally gave me a 500 dollar budget to get all the supplies for our upcoming summer retreat and I have like 40 items sitting in my cart right now. I need my manager to approve the list before I hit the buy button but there is literally no easy way to do it. I tried taking screenshots but they are like five miles long because of the scrolling and it just looks super unprofessional when I send them over. Plus some of the prices changed while I was busy cropping the images which is just great... total nightmare.

I am super excited to finally get these fancy portable chairs and the high-end coolers everyone keeps asking for but if I have to copy and paste 40 individual links into a Slack message I am going to lose my mind. It is honestly ridiculous that a huge tech company hasnt figured out a share cart button yet. My manager is really busy and she definitely wont click through dozens of different tabs just to see what I picked out for the team. I have to have this order placed by Friday morning to make sure everything arrives in time for the trip next week and I am starting to panic a little bit even though I am stoked about the gear lol.

I heard there are some Chrome extensions that let you just generate a link or a list of your whole cart to send to people but I dont know which ones are actually safe or reliable. I dont want some random sketchy plugin stealing my credit card info or my browsing data. Does anyone know a specific extension that actually works for sharing cart details? Like something that just grabs the item names and prices and lets me send a single link to my boss? I really need a solution that is fast and doesnt require her to log into my account or anything weird. How do you guys handle this for office orders or group buys?

Honestly, I once had a random extension leak my browsing data, which sucked. Share-A-Cart is safer, but it’s unfortunately buggy sometimes and not as fast as I’d like.

Building on the earlier suggestion, I definitely think Share-A-Cart is the standard, but you really gotta be careful about browser permissions. When you install any of these, check the site access settings in Chrome. I usually set mine to only run on click so the extension isnt constantly scraping my session data when Im just browsing other sites. It saves some memory overhead too. One thing to watch is that prices on Amazon fluctuate constantly because of their dynamic pricing algos. Since you have 40 items, that total is gonna jump around every hour. Id suggest grabbing the link and sending it immediately so the quote stays accurate. Also, check if any items have those clippable coupons because sometimes the extension doesnt carry those over to the recipient. It might mess up your budget if the manager sees a higher price than you did... would hate for you to get a surprise overage lol.

  • I totally get the privacy concerns, but honestly, I've had a much better experience with these tools. Over the years, I've managed procurement for multiple dev teams and Share-A-Cart has been my go-to specifically because of how it handles the data. It doesnt actually mess with your login session; it just captures the ASIN numbers and quantities to generate a unique manifest ID. It is way more efficient for a few reasons:
  • It generates a clean URL that doesnt require your manager to log in.
  • It preserves the specific quantities so you wont end up with double orders.
  • The data transfer is lightweight and doesnt bog down Chrome. Ive used it for orders way bigger than 500 bucks and never had a security hiccup. Stick to the verified extensions with high install counts and you'll save yourself hours of screenshots.
