I've been thinking about upgrading my camera gear for a while now, and I feel like this might be the right time to take the plunge. I've been looking around for some great deals on cameras and lenses, but I thought I'd reach out to the photography community here for some advice and recommendations.

I'm particularly interested in mirrorless cameras, but I'm open to any suggestions for cameras that offer excellent value for money. My budget is around $2,500 for the camera body, and I'd like to invest in a couple of decent lenses as well.

So, my question to you all is: what are the best camera deals you've come across recently? Are there any specific models or brands that are offering unbeatable prices right now? I'm looking for a camera that can handle a variety of shooting situations, from landscapes to portraits, and maybe even some video work.

Re: "For new cameras, check deals on Amazon, B&H,..."

  • Yeah, I totally agree with Leah on that. B&H and Adorama are basically the gold standard for a reason. I've bought most of my kit there over the years and they're solid. But if you're like me and you're a bit paranoid about buying used gear from random people online, you really should look at manufacturer refurbished stores. I remember when I was first looking at the Canon EOS R6 Mark II Body, I was terrified of getting a dud. I eventually took the risk on a factory refurb directly from the brand's site and honestly, it looked brand new. Not a single scratch or shutter count to worry about. The thing is, those units usually go through more testing than the ones coming off the standard assembly line because a technician actually has to sign off on them. Plus, you usually get the same 1-year warranty as a new one. I did the same thing with a Canon RF 24-105mm f/4 L IS USM and saved enough to buy a couple of extra high-speed SD cards. If you go this route, you can easily stay under that $2,500 limit and still have money left for glass like a Sony FE 85mm f/1.8 if you decide to jump into the Sony ecosystem instead. Its just a much safer way to get more for your money... ngl I probably wont buy brand new at full price ever again.

Get the Nikon Z8 for this Black Friday 2024, the price should go down around $2500.

If you're considering mirrorless cameras and aiming for excellent value for money, you should definitely check out the Sony A7 IV. It's been praised for its versatility, making it a great option for landscapes, portraits, and video work.

For new cameras, check deals on Amazon, B&H, Adorama.

For used cameras, check at KEH, eBay, and MBP.

I used to buy new camera gears on Amazon, they sometimes have some great deals on a lower price than other stores.

Best Buy is another great place for shopping cameras.
