Icelandic wind will ruin your shots if you go with a flimsy setup. That pricey travel one is okay for city walking but those thin legs are a nightmare in a gale. I find the Leofoto LS-284C Ranger Series Carbon Fiber Tripod is a better tool for the R6. It lacks a center column which is exactly why it stays stable. You can usually find it around $260. Keep these specs in mind:

• No center column means more stability in wind
• Max load should be at least 20lbs for safety
• Replaceable feet for spikes The Benro Rhino 24C Carbon Fiber Tripod with VX25 Head is another alternative that offers more height but still folds down small enough for a carry-on. Its a bit heavier than the Leofoto but still manageable for long treks. Just make sure to use the hook to weigh it down when the weather turns or those R6 long exposures wont be sharp.
