I'm trying to upgrade my home office setup in Chicago because my current screen is honestly prehistoric and the colors are all washed out. I’ve been looking at the Dell UltraSharp U2723QE because everyone says the 4K and the contrast are amazing for photo editing but the price is just way too high for me right now at like 600 bucks. I'm really hoping to snag it for closer to 450 or maybe 500 if I'm lucky in the next month or so.

The thing is I have literally no idea how people actually track these prices. Do I have to just refresh the page every single day? That seems like a lot of work and I know I'll forget and miss the sale when it finally happens. I heard there are ways to get an email or a ping when the price drops but I'm a complete newbie with this stuff and don't want to accidentally install something sketchy on my computer or get a bunch of spam.

  • Must be a reliable site or tool
  • Easy to set up because I'm not tech savvy at all
  • Works for Amazon or the Dell website directly
  • Free if possible

Is there a specific app or something you guys use for this? Sorry if this is a dumb thing to ask I just feel like I'm missing something obvious and I kinda don't know where to start...

You are gonna absolutely love that U2723QE! I use one for my editing rig and the contrast is seriously amazing... it is probably the best office upgrade I have ever made. Honestly, paying full price is painful when you know it goes on sale, so I totally get why you are waiting. Tracking prices is actually super easy and you dont need to be a tech wizard at all. For Amazon, you should definitely check out CamelCamelCamel. It is hands down the best free tool for this stuff. You literally just:

  • Copy the Amazon link for the monitor
  • Paste it into the search bar on the site
  • Type in your target price like 490 and your email address
  • Hit create and just forget about it until you get a notification! If you want to buy from the Dell site directly, Honey is fantastic too. It is a browser extension that has a droplist feature and it is so simple to use. It even tries to find coupons for you at checkout which is a total win. Seriously, dont worry about missing out. These monitors go on sale way more often than people think, especially with holiday promos coming up soon. You'll definitely snag it for under 500 if you stay patient... it's just a matter of time. Let me know if you need any more help getting it set up, it is really a breeze.

^ This. Also, just be careful about giving your main email to every site. I'm usually pretty cautious with these tools because of the spam, but PriceDropCatch is actually decent and doesn't feel sketchy. Make sure to check the Dell outlet too... sometimes they have refurbished ones that are basically brand new for way less. Might want to consider that if you're on a budget.

Unfortunately, most trackers kinda suck. CamelCamelCamel is ugly and Honey was super buggy for me.

  • Camel: Amazon only
  • Honey: Spammy popups Try this tool, its way cleaner tbh.
