What are the best spare batteries I should buy for my Leica SL2-S? sorry if this is a really dumb question but I just got this camera used and I have no idea where to even start because I'm totally new to this system. the battery that came with it seems to go down way faster than I thought it would and I am getting really anxious about it. I am supposed to be taking photos at my cousins wedding in Italy in about three weeks and I am terrified the thing is just gonna die right when they are saying their vows or something and I'll be stuck there with a dead piece of glass.
I saw the official ones are like 170 bucks which is just insane after I spent all my savings on the body. are those third party ones okay? I've been looking at:
I read some horror stories about batteries swelling up and getting stuck inside the camera and I'm really scared of ruining the electronics. Is it worth the risk to save some money or is that just asking for trouble? I'm already over my budget so I really dont want to spend another 300 dollars on two batteries if I dont have to...
I would suggest the Sigma BP-11 Li-ion Battery as it matches OEM voltage specs. Be careful with Wasabi Power BP-SCL4 Replacement cells; inconsistent discharge curves might cause sudden power loss.
