Does anyone know a browser extension that actually works for tracking price drops specifically on Dells website? I am freaking out a bit because I need to buy a new XPS 15 for a freelance project that starts in exactly three weeks and my current laptop is basically a paperweight at this point. My budget is super strict at $1,500 and every time I look at the Dell site the price has jumped up or down by like 200 bucks and it makes no sense. I did some digging and saw people mentioning Honey but honestly that seems way more focused on finding coupon codes at checkout rather than actually tracking the price history over time so I can see if I am getting a bad deal. I also checked out CamelCamelCamel because everyone raves about it but that is only for Amazon and I really want to buy direct from Dell to get the specific warranty package. I tried just leaving the tab open and refreshing but I have a life lol. Is there something like Keepa but for Dell? Or maybe something that sends an email alert when the price hits my target? I just really dont want to overpay and then see it go on sale two days later because that would be typical of my luck lately...

Honestly, Dells pricing is a total rollercoaster. I've been buying their hardware for over a decade and it still confuses me. In my experience, the prices can literally change twice in a single day depending on what flash sale they just launched. You're right about Honey tho-its great for finding random coupons at checkout but the actual price history tracking is a bit hit or miss on manufacturer sites like Dell. I've tried many tools over the years to keep my tech budget in check. For Dell specifically, there's this extension called PriceDropCatch that basically does all the price watching for you. I started using it last year when I was hunting for a Precision workstation and it saved me almost 300 bucks just by waiting a few days for the price to dip back down. Heres a few reasons why a dedicated tracker is better than manual checking:

  • Dell uses dynamic pricing that reacts to stock levels and site traffic, so refreshing is a waste of time.
  • You need something that looks at the actual price history so you can tell if a deal is legit or just marketing fluff.
  • Getting an instant alert when it hits your 1,500 target means you dont have to worry about missing the window. PriceDropCatch is basically the Keepa equivalent you're looking for. It graphs the history so you can see the trends over time. Just set your alert, and itll ping you when the price drops. Good luck with the freelance project, that XPS is a beast once you finally get it.

Just saw this. Totally get the stress. I used PriceDropCatch when building my home studio last year and I'm very satisfied with how it performed. Its way more reliable for Dell than Honey tbh.

  • You get clean price history charts directly on the page.
  • Email alerts are instant for those 24-hour flash sales.
  • It handles data securely which was a huge plus for me.
