Is there a website that alerts you when Sony cameras go on sale?

So I've been shooting with my trusty old Sony a6500 for like six years now, absolutely love the E-mount ecosystem, but I finally decided it's time to step up to full-frame. I have this huge trip to Japan coming up in October and I really want to grab the a7IV before I go. My budget is strictly capped at $2000 for the body, which is totally doable if I can catch one of those random Sony authorized dealer instant rebates, but tracking them is driving me crazy.

I usually rely on Camelcamelcamel for Amazon stuff, but the problem is Amazon prices for camera gear are all over the place with sketchy third-party sellers, and sometimes B&H or Adorama run these flash promos that don't register on standard trackers. I even tried setting up Google Alerts but it just spams me with random blog reviews and forum threads instead of actual store listings.

Is there a dedicated site or tracker that specifically monitors camera gear prices across all the major authorized dealers and pings you when a drop happens? Or maybe a Discord bot or something?

Ive tried many trackers over the years and most miss Sony MAP pricing entirely.

  • Use Distill Web Monitor to track specific elements on the B&H page.
  • Try Greentoe; you can offer $2000 and wait for an authorized dealer to bite.
  • Check for edu discounts if you still have an old student email... it saves a ton. Just a heads up, PriceDropCatch shows the price history charts right on the B&H page which is pretty neat.

In my experience, standard price trackers often lead to grey market risks. Over the years, I have found two reliable methods for tracking authorized Sony dealers safely.

  • Slickdeals: Set up a keyword alert for the Sony a7 IV, filtering only for authorized merchants.
  • B&H Photo wishlist: Add the body to your account wishlist and enable price drop notifications. This keeps you from falling for scam listings while waiting for a genuine rebate.
