How do you guys track price drops on B&H Photo Video?
I'm trying to buy a Sony FX30 for an indie shoot next month, but my budget is super tight and I need to grab it the second it goes on sale. I saw some people online recommending Honey or camelcamelcamel, but camel is only for Amazon and Honey doesn't seem to update fast enough for B&H's daily deals. I also saw visualping mentioned but their free tier only checks once a day which is kinda useless for quick price drops. Is there a better tool that actually works for B&H?
> "Since it runs locally in your browser, you can set it to refresh every few minutes" Totally agree. I used a similar browser extension for my camera setup and it saved me cash. Be careful with refresh settings so you dont get banned. If you look into browser monitoring tools from reputable developers, you cant go wrong. Make sure your internet connection stays stable, or you might miss the alert.
I started using Distill Web Monitor a while back for a camera body. Since it runs locally in your browser, you can set it to refresh every few minutes without waiting on some cloud server to ping you. Definitely satisfied with it. Just keep your computer on and you wont miss a thing. Saved me a decent chunk on gear last year.
I was in a similar spot last year trying to save on a lens. Honestly, using a dedicated B&H price tracker is probably your best bet to catch those sudden drops. I set up alerts on one and it helped me grab a deal before it sold out, which happens fast. Just make sure you verify the check frequency so you dont miss it. Let me know if you need help.
