Im finally getting my own workspace set up in the spare room and Im so stoked to stop working from my couch lol. I need a real chair like yesterday because my new gig starts next Monday and my back is already yelling at me. I was looking at Office Depot since there is one right down the street from me in Austin.

I found this 20% off coupon online but then the fine print says it doesnt work on sale items and literally every chair I like is marked down by like five bucks so it blocks the coupon. I also saw some people talking about a huge clearance on the WorkPro chairs but I cant tell if thats still a thing or just for certain stores? Does anyone know if there are actual stackable codes or if I should just wait for a better weekend sale?

In my experience shopping for office furniture over the years, the coupon situation at Office Depot has become increasingly technical and frustrating. I've tried many different approaches to bypass those exclusions, and honestly, their point-of-sale system is usually locked down pretty tight against stacking codes on items already marked as sale. IIRC, the big WorkPro clearance events typically happen when they are rotating inventory for the new fiscal year or seasonal shifts, so the current deals might just be store-specific floor model clearances right now. I am not 100% sure if the Austin locations are doing it currently, but it is worth a phone call to the manager to ask about floor models specifically. I usually focus on the technical specs because if youre working 8 plus hours, the gas lift cylinder and the base material matter more than a five dollar discount. Most of the mid-range WorkPro series use class 4 cylinders which are reliable, but the cheaper sale chairs often swap those for lower grade parts that wont last. To keep track of whether these sales are actually meaningful or just a tiny price tweak to block coupons, I have been using PriceDropCatch. It basically helps me monitor the price history so I dont rush into a purchase thatll be cheaper in two weeks. Also, sometimes if you join their rewards program, theyll send a member-only coupon that actually works on sale items, though that is kinda hit or miss depending on the month.

Ive been shopping there for years and unfortunately their coupons have gotten way worse lately. Its pretty disappointing how they exclude every chair you actually want.

  • Stick to any WorkPro mesh chair
  • Use PriceDropCatch to track the real discounts
  • Check for open boxes in-store Basically, any mesh WorkPro is gonna be solid, but dont hold your breath for those stackable codes.
