Should I wait for a sale to purchase the Canon R6?

I'm stuck between the Canon R6 and the Sony A7 IV right now. Honestly leaning toward the R6 because I already have a few EF lenses with an adapter, but that Sony autofocus is tempting. My budget is strictly $2,200 for everything and I really need to make it stretch since I'm mostly just taking photos of my kids' track meets and some local hiking trails here in Oregon.

  • budget: max 2200 bucks
  • use case: fast action sports and landscape
  • timeline: before march

Is it worth waiting for a seasonal sale or do these prices usually stay pretty flat? I dont want to miss out if a price drop is coming next month...

Waiting is usually the better move before March. Since you have EF glass, the R6 is more realistic for a 2200 budget. Switching to Sony is gonna mean buying all new lenses.

  • Check Canon refurbished deals
  • Monitor the B&H price tracker
  • Stick to the EF adapter The R6 autofocus handles track meets really well. You wont miss much compared to the Sony and it keeps your costs down.
