So I am looking at this TV on the Walmart website and it says it is a Rollback price but I have no clue if that is actually a good deal or just marketing fluff. I am moving into a new apartment in Cincinnati next week and I really need to get a TV for the living room but my budget is strictly under 450 dollars. I do not want to get ripped off by a fake sale because I heard stores sometimes raise the price right before a big promotion just to make it look like you are saving money.
I am really sorry if this is a dumb question because I have never really done this before and I am pretty bad with technology in general. I know there is that one website for Amazon that people use to see the price history but I cannot remember the name and I do not know if it even works for Walmart. I tried looking on Google but all I found were these weird coupon extensions and sites that just wanted me to sign up for a bunch of emails which I really dont want to do.
I am looking for something that fits these things:
Does anyone know a site like that? I am trying to buy the TV by Tuesday so it gets here in time for my move-in day. I keep seeing the Rollback sign everywhere on the site but I dont know if I should trust it or if I should wait for a better price later in the month. I am totally lost with how to track this stuff and I just want to make sure my first big purchase for my place is actually a good one...
Hey, congrats on the move to Cincinnati! Moving is a huge hassle so I totally get wanting to stay under that 450 limit. You're 100 percent right to be skeptical about those rollback tags because stores definitely mess with the numbers sometimes. Basically, they want you to feel that FOMO, it's kinda annoying tbh. For Walmart specifically, a few tools are decent:
To add to the point above: you gotta be careful with third-party sellers on their site since they manipulate prices way more than Walmart itself. Over the years, I have found PriceDropCatch is the easiest way to double-check those rollback tags. It shows a super simple graph of the price history. Just paste the link and you will see if it is a real deal or not before you spend your 450.
