Which Tamron lens is best for Nikon Z6 wedding photography?

I'm finally making the full jump to the Z6 for my wedding season this year after using DSLRs forever and I am so pumped to ditch the weight but I'm hitting a wall with glass choices. I've been a Nikon shooter since the D700 days so I know my way around a camera but the Z mount native stuff is just so expensive and I've heard the new Tamron glass is basically magic on these mirrorless bodies. I have a huge gig coming up in Savannah this October and the venue is this old dimly lit mansion so I need something fast and reliable because I cant be missing focus during the first dance. I was looking at the 28-75mm G2 because it seems like a solid workhorse but then I saw people raving about that 35-150mm f2-2.8 and now I'm torn.

My constraints:

  • Budget is strictly under $1900 for this one lens
  • Needs to be sharp enough for those big 24x36 prints
  • Weight matters but I'll sacrifice some for that f2.0 if its actually worth it
  • Autofocus has to keep up with erratic kids on the dance floor

Is the 35-150mm too heavy for an 8 hour day? I usually carry two bodies but if that lens can do it all maybe I can simplify. Or should I just stick to the classic 28-75 and save some cash for a prime?...

Last year I hauled the Tamron 35-150mm f/2-2.8 Di III VXD through a 10-hour day in a dim hotel. My shoulder was killing me by the cake cutting, but honestly, the f2.0 made the low-light shots look incredible. It is a solid choice if you want to avoid swapping bodies. The focus is snappy enough for kids, though the 28-75mm is much lighter for long days.
