Just got my first M and I am trying to figure out the must-haves. I saw people rave about Thumbs Up grips but others say they get in the way. Also, is a UV filter actually necessary or does it ruin the glass?
- Budget: under 400 bucks
- Use: daily carry in London
- Style: minimal
Which bits are essential for street?

In my experience, shooting London street means you're gonna bump into things. I've tried many grips, but they mostly just bulk up the profile and make it less discrete. Honestly, just get these:
- B+W 39mm 010 UV Haze MRC Nano Filter for protection against the Underground grime.
- Peak Design Leash Camera Strap Black because it's low profile and easy to detach. I once dropped my M on the pavement and that filter saved the glass. Worth every penny.
