What are the absolute must-have travel accessories for the Fuji X-T5? Im heading to Japan for two weeks next month and I really want to nail my setup without carrying a 20lb bag. I saw some people online swearing by the SmallRig hand grip but then others say it makes the camera too bulky for street photography in Tokyo. Also is a thumb grip actually useful or just one of those things people buy for the aesthetic? My budget for extra bits is around $300 and I already picked up some spare batteries. Just trying to figure out if I should drop money on a Peak Design strap or if the stock one is fine for long days of walking...

Had a moment to think about this... I've been really satisfied with how my X-T5 feels lately with just a few small tweaks. Tbh, skip the full SmallRig grip if you want to keep things light for Japan. I tried it and it felt bulky for street stuff, so I swapped to the Haoge THB-XT5B Thumb Rest for Fujifilm X-T5 instead. It looks cool but actually works well for stabilizing your grip when shooting one-handed. Huge difference for such a tiny part. As for the strap, the stock one is pretty rough after a few hours. I'm very happy I spent the money on the Peak Design Slide Lite Camera Strap SLL-BK-3. Its way better because you can adjust the length instantly. Definitely worth the upgrade for a long trip. You'll still have plenty of your budget left for some good ramen in Tokyo.

Japan is literally the best place for the X-T5! I did two weeks there last year and learned some hard lessons about comfort. You absolutely need a thumb grip. I use the Lensmate Fujifilm X-T5 Thumb Grip and it makes the camera feel way more secure without adding any bulk like those big cages do. It's fantastic for one-handed shots while you're navigating the subway or holding a train handle. For power, I'd grab the Nitecore FX3 Dual Slot USB Charger for Fujifilm NP-W235 because you can charge via USB-C in your bag while you walk. Ngl, the stock strap is pretty trash for 20k steps a day... if you dont want a neck strap, check out the Peak Design Cuff Camera Wrist Strap. I used it 90% of the time in Tokyo because it’s so much easier in crowds. Have an amazing trip!
