What are the best essential accessories for the Fuji X-T5?

I just upgraded to the X-T5 from my old X-T2 and honestly I'm kinda losing my mind with the ergonomics. I've been shooting Fuji for a decade so I thought I knew what I was getting into but the body feels way more cramped than I expected. My logic was that I'd just use my old straps and cards but man that 40MP sensor is just eating through my old V30 cards like crazy and the buffer is constantly lagging which is super annoying.

I'm heading to Iceland in like two weeks for a big landscape trip and I'm stressed about the weather sealing and the grip. I tried one of those cheap thumb grips from Amazon but it blocks the back dial and now I'm back to square one. I have about 300 bucks left in my gear budget for this month and I need to know what people are actually using to make this thing feel like a pro tool and not a toy. Do I need a full L-bracket or just the smallrig grip? And what about the batteries?

This new NP-W235 is better but I still feel like I'm constantly hovering over the power switch. What are the absolute must-haves that dont suck? I really need stuff that actually fits the build quality of the body and wont fall apart in the cold. My hands are just too big for this thing without some kind of extension but I dont want to add too much bulk if I can help it...

I totally get the frustration with the X-T5's size if you've got larger hands. It’s definitely a bit tighter than the older bodies, especially if you’re used to the chunkier feel of the X-T2. Since you're heading to Iceland, you might want to consider the SmallRig L-Shape Grip for FUJIFILM X-T5 4060. It’s way cheaper than the official Fuji version and honestly, the build quality is solid enough to handle some spray and cold. It adds just enough height for your pinky to rest, which makes a huge difference when you're wearing heavy gloves in the wind. Be careful with those cheap thumb grips though... most of them just get in the way of the exposure compensation dial and honestly just feel flimsy. For the buffer issues, those V30 cards are definitely gonna choke on the 40MP files. I would suggest picking up a Lexar Professional 1667x 128GB SDXC UHS-II V60 or even the Kingston Canvas React Plus 128GB SDXC UHS-II V90 if you catch a sale. You dont need to swap every card you own right now, but having one fast primary card will save your sanity during those landscape bursts. Also, make sure to grab an extra Fujifilm NP-W235 Li-Ion Battery because the Iceland cold just drains them way faster than normal. Stick to the OEM ones if you can, just to be safe with the reliability. You should be able to get the grip and a decent card for under that 300 dollar limit if you’re smart about it.

Just saw this. Are you planning on shooting mostly stills or high-bitrate video? For those 40MP files, you really need a SanDisk Extreme PRO SDXC UHS-II V90 128GB to clear the buffer properly. Regarding ergonomics, the Fujifilm MHG-XT5 Metal Hand Grip is a more effective option for larger hands than third-party grips since it provides extra depth and wont block your dials or battery door.

To add to the point above: I unfortunately found heavy L-brackets annoying. Theyre overkill. Just get the SmallRig Silicone Grip for FUJIFILM X-T5 4229 and some ProGrade Digital SDXC UHS-II V60 Gold cards.
