I finally pulled the trigger on the Fuji X-H2S for a series of wedding shoots starting next month in Seattle and honestly I am panicking a little bit about the rig setup. I have about $400 left in my budget for this month and need to get a cage and some power solutions fast. I spent hours looking at the SmallRig black mamba cage because it looks sleek but then I saw the Tilta one has that optional cooling fan attachment and now I am second guessing everything. Like is the overheating really that bad? I dont want the camera dying mid-ceremony but the Tilta cage looks so bulky and I prefer a handheld feel. My logic was to save money on batteries to buy a better handle for the cage but now I am stuck.
Then there is the battery situation... I saw some people on Reddit saying the official Fuji NP-W235 is the only way to go but they are $80 a pop which is insane if I need four of them. I looked at the Wasabi Power ones and some Neewer sets but then I read a horror story about them swelling inside the compartment and now I am terrified of bricking my brand new camera. What are you guys actually using in the field for long days? Do I need the fan or is it overkill? I really need to get this ordered by Friday so it gets here in time for my rehearsals...
honestly i skipped the fan for my summer shoots and it was fine. The X-H2S thermal management is way better than the old XT4. I went with the SmallRig X-H2S Black Mamba Cage 3928 because its way less bulky for run-and-gun.
