So I finally swapped my trusty X-T3 for the X-S20 because I need that 6K open gate for a short film project in Kyoto next month, but man, I didnt realize how much extra stuff Id need to actually make this thing work for video. I know my way around a camera but this new sensor is a different beast and it gets pretty toasty after like 15 minutes of recording.
Got about 800 bucks left in the budget. Should I prioritize that weird clip-on fan or just grab a decent cage and some V90 cards? Also looking for a compact top mic recommendation that wont catch the IBIS hum if thats still a thing...
Kyoto gets pretty humid so honestly, grab the Fujifilm FAN-001 Cooling Fan if you're doing long 6K takes. I've found the SmallRig 4075 Cage for Fujifilm X-S20 is non-negotiable for rigging. Dont overspend on V90s tho; the Angelbird AV PRO SD MK2 V60 256GB handles 6K bitrates perfectly well. For audio, the Rode VideoMic NTG is super clean and avoids that ibis hum.
