Honestly getting so frustrated with my Mini 3 Pro lately. I took it out to the coast near San Diego last weekend and the glare on the screen was just impossible to see anything and I almost hit a pier. My logic was the screen on the remote would be enough but clearly not. Plus I only get like 20 mins of real flight time before I'm panicking about the battery and it just kills the mood. I have maybe $200 tops to spend on gear right now to make this less of a headache. Should I get ND filters first or just a better sunshade? Is the fly more kit actually worth it or should I buy stuff separate...

Just catching up on this thread and i honestly gotta offer a slightly different perspective. Like someone mentioned, the filters are great for the look, but if youre already struggling to see the screen, adding an ND filter can sometimes make it even harder to spot obstacles since it darkens the overall exposure. Those clip-on hoods felt clunky when I tried them and they messed with my muscle memory on the sticks too. When I was flying out by the cliffs last summer, the biggest headache wasnt just the light, it was the environment. Sand and salt spray are absolute killers for these tiny motors. Instead of a hood, I went with a Skyreat Matte Screen Protector for DJI RC which cuts the reflection way down without the extra bulk. A PGYTECH Drone Landing Pad Pro 50cm is also a must-have for coastal flights to keep that gimbal off the sand. Ground level is just too risky for these sensors. To stay under your $200 limit, skipping the official kit and grabbing a Hanatora 3 in 1 Digital Display Battery Charger is a smarter move. It handles three batteries and shows the voltage, which gave me way more peace of mind than the standard DJI hub. Throw in a SanDisk Extreme Pro 256GB microSDXC V30 and youve got a much more reliable setup for way less cash. It just works better for a practical day out...

Quick reply while I have a sec! If youre flying at the coast, the technical demands on your sensor are huge. You absolutely need to manage that light! To stay under your $200 budget and fix the headaches, here is how the gear stacks up:

  • Freewell All Day 6-Pack ND Filters for Mini 3 Pro: These are amazing for hitting the 180-degree shutter rule. Without these, your beach footage will look jittery because the shutter speed is too high. It doesnt fix screen glare, but it makes the camera data actually usable.
  • DJI Mini 3 Pro Fly More Kit: This is the most logical buy. You get two 2453mAh batteries and the two-way charging hub. Buying these parts separate is a total waste of cash. Honestly, I love the ND filters for the pro look, but the Fly More Kit is basically essential for any real flight session. Get the kit first so you actually have time to practice without the low-battery panic!

Get the DJI RC Sun Hood first for that glare! Its a lifesaver. Then, grab the DJI Mini 3 Series Intelligent Flight Battery Plus because that extra flight time is absolutely incredible!
