ive been flying drones since the phantom 4 days so im not new to ocusync but man im getting so frustrated lately. im using the mini 3 pro with the standard rc-n1 and the signal range in my suburban area is just garbage. getting screen freezes at like 600 meters which is ridiculous for o3. ive been looking at the dji rc with the built-in screen but i need to know if the actual antennas/range are better or if it just looks cooler.
my constraints:
does the rc actually hold a signal better or am i just paying for the convenience of not using my phone...
Honestly I am very satisfied with the DJI RC Remote Controller with 5.5-inch Screen and it works well. No signal issues for me, plus it feels way safer than messing with cables.
^ This. Also, i was pretty disappointed when i tried the DJI RC Remote Controller with 5.5-inch Screen in a busy area. it is not as good as expected for range. are there a lot of power lines or towers where you fly?
TL;DR: The RC likely wont fix your signal issues since it uses internal antennas. To add to the point above: I actually found the range worse than the N1 in busy neighborhoods. I took mine out for a shoot last month and it kept stuttering at like 400m where my phone setup was fine. Are you mostly flying low behind obstacles? Also, have you checked if you're on 2.4 or 5.8GHz when it fails?
