So I finally pulled the trigger on the Mini 4 Pro after flying my old Mini 2 into the ground literally lol. Ive been flying for like 3 years now so I know the basics but man this new tech is kinda intimidating and I'm super nervous about crashing it or missing something essential. I'm heading out to the Scottish Highlands in three weeks for this big landscape shoot and the weather there is always a nightmare with the wind and the light changing every two seconds. I already got the Fly More combo because obviously you need the batteries but I feel like I'm missing stuff. Do I really need those ND filters for the vertical shooting or is the auto exposure good enough now? And what about those landing gears? I'm worried about landing in the tall grass or on wet rocks. I've got about 300 bucks left in my budget for accessories and I dont want to waste it on junk that just adds weight. I heard some people talking about wide angle lenses too but does that mess with the gimbal? Im just really anxious about being out in the middle of nowhere and realizing I forgot a basic piece of gear that ruins the whole trip. What are the absolute must-haves that you guys actually use every day and what is just marketing hype... I really need to get this sorted before I leave.

Like someone mentioned, filters can be hit or miss, but I disagree about the quality issues. Honestly, the Freewell DJI Mini 4 Pro ND Filters All Day 6-Pack gives reliable results without color shifts. For the Highlands, skip the landing pad and prioritize gear safety:
- SanDisk Extreme Pro 256GB microSDXC V30 for stable 4K data.
- Lykus Titan MA210 Waterproof Hard Case for damp weather. Hand launching is basically safer than using gear in wet grass.

Late to the thread but wanted to chime in... im super cautious about my gear too, especially with that scottish wind. i’d be really careful with those wide-angle lenses tbh. they add weight that makes the gimbal work harder, and in high winds, that could cause an error or even damage the motor. For landing in grass, i’d suggest a PGYTECH Drone Landing Pad Pro over those clip-on legs. extensions can catch the wind and make the drone unstable during flight. the weighted pad is way safer and keeps the sensors clean from wet grass. also, you might want to consider a Sunnylife DJI RC 2 Silicone Protective Cover and Lanyard. dropping your remote on wet rocks would be a nightmare. if you still have budget left, just get the DJI Care Refresh 2-Year Plan Mini 4 Pro. its the only thing that actually stops the pre-flight anxiety.

Yeah, you definitely need the filters, but unfortunately the last set I bought was a huge letdown with weird blue tints. Auto exposure just cant handle those dramatic Scottish clouds. I also tried those clip-on legs and they were honestly pretty useless in the wind.
- Just get a folding landing pad
- Maybe a screen protector Hand launching is way better than adding bulky junk that kills your flight time tbh.
