• David is so right about those first-batch firmware glitches. Everyone here is basically guessing 2025 or even later for a Pro model, but waiting that long is a waste of good flying weather imo. If you need the best camera right now, the DJI Mavic 3 Pro with DJI RC is an absolute beast. I love the triple camera setup, it is amazing for getting different perspectives without landing! If that feels like overkill, the DJI Air 3 Fly More Combo is fantastic and handles wind like a champ for a smaller drone. Ngl though, from a DIY perspective, you could always build a custom 7-inch long range rig with the DJI O3 Air Unit if you want real freedom. It wont have the fancy obstacle avoidance, but the flight time and raw speed are incredible! My advice? Dont wait years for the Mavic 4. Grab a Mavic 3 Pro or build something custom and get out there!

Ngl I have to agree with Kimberly. I learned the hard way that chasing the latest release can be a huge headache. Back when the last major flagship dropped, I pre-ordered it day one thinking I needed those extra specs for my commercial gigs. Ended up having a massive flight controller glitch over a lake during the first week. Scared the life out of me... literally almost lost my whole rig because the firmware wasnt stable yet. Honestly, you might want to consider just sticking with what works for now. These early batches always seem to have some weird hardware quirks or software bugs that dont get patched for months. Be careful about jumping on the hype train too fast because reliability is everything when youre a few hundred feet up. I would suggest waiting until a few months after it actually hits shelves to see if people are reporting any major failures. My current setup is solid and im not risking a crash just for a slightly better sensor.

Looking for release dates is a tricky game in this industry. In my experience, following these rumors usually turns into a bit of a wild goose chase. I remember back in the day my buddy was so sure about a launch date that he sold his entire kit three months early just to have the cash ready. Then the release got pushed back and he missed the entire peak fall foliage season. He was just stuck watching us fly while he waited for a tracking number that didnt exist yet. Over the years, Ive seen this happen so many times. One time a group of us spent weeks tracking actual cargo ships because someone claimed they saw the new units being loaded at a port. We were so convinced we had the timeline perfect that we booked a whole mountain retreat for the launch week. Ended up just sitting around the cabin looking at empty skies because the leaks were completely off base. It turned into a whole ordeal that we still laugh about at meetups... anyway, those were the days.

Mavic 3 is released in November 2021, Mavic 3 Pro is released in May 2023. So we can expect Mavic 4 to be released in late 2024 to 2025, while Mavic 4 Pro release date in 2026 to 2027.

So is Mavic 3 Pro not enough for you ?

It is still too early for Mavic 4 Pro, just wait for Mavic 4, which could be released in late 2024 to early 2025.
