okay so i am freaking out a little bit because my sisters baby shower is literally this saturday and i am just now getting the amazon list ready. family members are texting me every five minutes asking for the link and i feel like such a mess lol. i did some digging and saw that there is a specific invite button but then i also read on a blog that you should just use the share button at the top right? but then some people in a thread said that if you do that it doesnt always update when someone buys something so we might end up with five of the same diaper bags which would be a disaster. i also saw that you can make the list public or shared but i dont really want random people being able to find it on google or whatever since it has her address on it for shipping. i just need the absolute quickest way to send a link that actually works and lets people mark things as purchased without me having to manually fix it every time. if i just copy the link from my browser bar is that gonna work or is it just gonna show them an error page? what is the actual fastest way to do this so i can just text it to everyone in one go and be done with it?

Jumping in real quick to help you breathe lol. Are you planning to send this link via individual texts or a group chat? Also, have you already double checked that her shipping address is actually attached to the list settings?

  • is it just family or a bigger group?
  • are you doing this from the app or browser? Btw I started using Cart To Link and it makes it way easier to show people whats in my cart.

Dont just copy the URL from your browser address bar. That usually triggers an error or shows a blank page for others because its tied to your specific login session. The most efficient method is using the Send list to others button. Select View Only to generate a unique permalink. This allows recipients to see the list and marks items as purchased automatically to prevent duplicates. If you want to save the family some money, double check that youve toggled the settings to show price drops or coupons. Setting it up as an actual Baby Registry instead of a standard Wish List is technically superior because it often grants a 15% completion discount for anything left over. Its the most cost-effective way to handle a big event like this. Just a tip: Cart To Link is really handy if youre collaborating on a project and need the same parts.

Honestly, I have been using Amazon lists for every single family event for years now and I am always so satisfied with how they handle the tracking. You definitely want to stick to the Shared setting. It keeps the list hidden from random Google searches but lets anyone you text see everything without a problem. Here are the two best ways I have found to do this without losing your mind:

  • The Share Link: Just hit that Send list to others button at the top right and make sure you select View Only. This generates a clean link you can just blast out in a group text. The best part is that once someone buys an item, Amazon usually flags it as purchased so nobody else buys it. It works really well and I have never had an issue with duplicates using this method.
  • The Baby Registry: If you have five minutes to spare, turning this into an actual Baby Registry instead of just a Wish List is even better. Registries have a built-in thank you note tracker and usually give you a completion discount later. It is basically the same amount of effort but feels a bit more official for a shower. Whatever you do, just dont copy the link from your address bar... that always breaks for other people. Just use the View Only link and you will be totally fine. It is much easier than people make it out to be once you find that specific button.
