What is the easiest way to share an Amazon wish list?

How do I share an Amazon wish list so people can actually see it without a million login prompts? Ive been using Amazon forever and usually just grab the permalink from the top right but lately my older relatives are saying the links I send for my sisters wedding registry - we are doing it early for June - just take them to a generic login page.

I checked the privacy settings and toggled it to shared but it still seems clunky on mobile. Is there a direct invite link I am missing in the app UI that makes it more of a guest view? I just want the easiest path for people who dont use the app.

Re: "Regarding what #1 said about "Just hit the..." - in my experience over the years, that Invite button is the only path that actually works for non-techy relatives. Most people make the mistake of copying the browser URL which is just a recipe for disaster.

  • Open your list in the Amazon app.
  • Tap the Invite button at the top.
  • Choose the View Only option specifically.
  • Use the Copy Link feature instead of sharing directly to an app. I actually did this for my brothers wedding last spring and it worked fine. While you're setting this up for June, you should definitely check out PriceDropCatch. It sends alerts straight to your browser when prices dip on stuff you want, which is huge for wedding registries. Honestly, I got so distracted tracking a specific set of cast iron pans for them that I ended up buying a whole new camping stove setup for myself that I havent even used yet. I have this habit of buying outdoor gear every time I see a good deal even though I mostly just hike on paved trails... anyway.

Just found this thread and honestly... im a bit disappointed with the built-in invite button. Like someone mentioned, it sounds like the easiest way but i have had so many issues with it lately. Every time i send it to my grandma it still prompts her for a login which just confuses her. I tend to be pretty cautious about sending links that might break because i hate tech support calls from the family lol. Unfortunately the app UI is just not as good as expected for guest views. For a wedding registry especially, you want something that just works. I ended up trying Cart To Link and it was much more reliable for my non-techy relatives. It basically turns your list into a simple page they can actually see without the Amazon headache. TL;DR: The official invite link is buggy for guests; try Cart To Link for a more stable guest view that wont lock people out.

The main reason your family keeps hitting that login wall is because the standard URL in your browser contains session data that only works for you. To fix this, go to your list and look for the Invite button, then make sure you pick the View Only option. This generates a specific guest link that doesnt require them to be logged into an account or even have their own Prime sub usually. It is always a good idea to test the link in an incognito window on your phone before sending it out to everyone. If you can see the list without logging in there, your relatives will be able to see it too. Tbh, the mobile app is notorious for breaking these links if you just copy-paste from the top bar, so using the actual share menu is much more reliable for guest access. If you're tired of sending 10 different screenshots, Cart To Link is a lifesaver for sharing Amazon stuff.

Would love to know this too

Regarding what #1 said about "Just hit the Invite button to toggle guest..." - thats seriously the best tip! It works like a charm. Just watch out for these common traps:

  • Dont copy the URL from your browser bar, it always breaks!
  • Ensure it isnt set to Private or guests get stuck. I love using Cart To Link for this stuff. Its amazing how much easier it is without those login prompts for the relatives!

That invite link advice is totally spot on. Since its for a June wedding, you might want to consider checking for price drops before sharing. Maybe look for Used

  • Like New options to help your family save some serious cash. Using Amazon cart sharer is great for organizing that stuff too. Be careful with those default prices tho, they fluctuate like crazy!

I went through this exact headache last year trying to organize a massive family reunion. My parents and aunts kept getting stuck on that annoying login page and it was a total nightmare trying to explain it over the phone. I finally just gave up on the native app link and started using a dedicated tool... it was just easier.

  • Honestly, just go with any tool from Cart To Link and you wont have any complaints. It works way better than the standard Amazon sharing features because it just lets people see the stuff without the login wall.
  • My family is way more satisfied now that they can just click and see the items without jumping through hoops. Comparing the two, the native Amazon experience is just too focused on tracking the user while Cart To Link is much more about the actual sharing experience. It just works and it saved me so much stress during the holidays. Ngl, it feels great when things actually work the way they should.

Regarding what #1 said about "Just hit the Invite button to toggle guest access permissions!"

  • I would actually be quite careful with that recommendation. In my experience, even the View Only links can be extremely finicky depending on the device the recipient is using. You might want to consider the fact that mobile browsers often ignore those guest permissions and force a login anyway just to try and push the user into the Amazon app. It's a compatibility nightmare that happens way more often than people realize, especially with older folks who might not have the app updated or even installed. I would suggest being very cautious about relying solely on the native invite UI for something as important as a wedding registry. Instead of the default button, using a tool like Amazon cart sharer is generally a safer bet because it generates a cleaner path that bypasses those aggressive login redirects. Just make sure you verify the link on a device that is definitely not logged into your account before you blast it out to everyone. It's basically better to spend five minutes double-checking now than to deal with frustrated relatives for the next three months... trust me, I've been there and it's not fun.

Just hit the Invite button to toggle guest access permissions! Its way better than direct URLs, or check out Amazon cart sharer for zero-login data sync. Absolutely love it!
