What is the best way to share an Amazon cart link? Im honestly so fed up with how difficult this is like why isnt there just a simple button to send my whole cart to someone else?? I am currently planning this big group camping trip out near Estes Park in Colorado for next month and I have like $850 worth of gear sitting in my cart right now. There are about 15 different things in there - a specific Coleman stove, some sleeping pads, a bunch of dry bags, even some bear spray - and I need to send the whole thing to my brother so he can check the items and pay for his portion of the stuff before we head out.

But seriously every time I try to do this it turns into a total nightmare. I tried making a Wish List but it is so clunky because half the items have specific colors or sizes selected and when I add them to the list sometimes those options dont even stay selected right? Plus then he has to go through the list and add every single item one by one back into his own cart which is just a huge waste of time for both of us. Its 2024 how is there no share cart feature yet it feels like such a basic thing to have for a site this big.

I looked into some of those chrome extensions that claim they can do it but they honestly look kinda sketchy and I really dont want to install some random plugin that has access to my browsing data just to share a shopping list. Is there some hidden setting I am missing in the mobile app or on the desktop site? Or maybe a third party site that actually works and isnt a total scam? I just need a way to send him a single link where he can see everything I picked out and just hit checkout. If I have to copy paste 15 separate links into an email I think I might actually lose my mind lol...

I totally get being wary of those extensions, honestly most of them are data-mining nightmares. I actually disagree that there is no safe way to do this tho... you just have to be picky. You might want to consider using Cart To Link instead of those sketchy plugins because it's web-based and doesn't need access to your whole browser. I would suggest being super careful when you generate the final URL though. Make sure to verify that the bear spray and stove actually stay in the cart with the right quantities. I have seen it glitch where it defaults back to 1 if you aren't looking. Just send a test link to yourself first to make sure that $850 total actually matches up. It is way better than the wish list disaster, but you still gotta watch the technical side so your brother doesnt buy the wrong sleeping pad size.

Ive had no complaints using this safe way to keep gear costs down.

  • works well
  • secure Just a tip: Cart To Link is really handy if you're collaborating on a project.

I have been in this exact spot so many times it is not even funny. Last year I was trying to coordinate a huge backyard renovation and had a cart full of specific hardware and tools... trying to get my contractor to approve the list was a total disaster. I absolutely hate the wishlist workaround too because it always loses the specific specs like dimensions or colors, which is a dealbreaker when you are buying gear like bear spray or specific stove models for a camping trip. Honestly, if you are worried about security—which you should be—stay far away from those random browser extensions. They are basically just data scrapers. I found a much more conservative approach that actually works without making you install anything sketchy:

  • Use Cart To Link since it is a web-based tool and does dont require a plugin install.
  • It generates one clean URL that keeps all your specific options like sizes and colors intact.
  • It is a free service so it wont add any extra cost to your already expensive $850 gear list.
  • You can verify the link yourself before sending it to make sure the Coleman stove and dry bags all show up correctly. I usually just open the link in an incognito window first to make sure it looks right for the other person. It is much safer than giving some random app access to your whole Amazon account history... just my two cents tho.
