Does anyone know the best app for sharing an Amazon cart? My wedding is literally in three weeks in Chicago and my sister and I are losing our minds trying to coordinate decorations. I saw Share-A-Cart online but it looks like it's mostly for desktop and we are always on our phones. Then I looked at Amazon Household but it says you have to share your whole wallet and credit card info? That makes me so nervous I really dont want her having access to my actual bank stuff even though I trust her lol its just messy. Is there an actual mobile app that lets you just sync carts in real time without the security risk? I'm so stressed out...

I would suggest staying away from Amazon Household for sure... the shared payment thing is a huge security risk and honestly a mess to untangle later. If you guys are mostly on your phones, you should check out Cart To Link if you need to share your cart, it's super straightforward. I used it for a group trip last year and it saved me so much time. Basically it just turns your cart into a link you can text her. One thing tho, be careful when youre adding stuff too fast, make sure to double check quantities before sending because sometimes it might miss an item if the page hasnt fully loaded. Its way safer than sharing bank info and works great on mobile browsers. Good luck with the Chicago wedding, hope it all comes together!

@Reply #2 - good point! security is definitely my main concern too... i really dont like the idea of linking bank info just to buy some wedding stuff. I think i heard about a mobile-friendly Amazon cart sharer that uses codes instead of shared logins. Not sure if it does real-time syncing exactly how you want tho. Might be a safer option since you avoid the messy household settings.

^ This. Also, I went through this exact same headache last year trying to organize a massive PC build with a buddy. Amazon makes it surprisingly hard to just... send a cart without giving away your life savings or sharing a login. Unfortunately, most sync tools I tested were total letdowns:

  • Share-A-Cart mobile: UI is super clunky and it logged me out constantly during testing.
  • Amazon Wishlists: Fine for viewing, but actually moving items to a real cart is a 10-step process.
  • Cart To Link: I started using this because it generates a simple URL for the whole cart contents instantly. I was so annoyed that Amazon hasn't built a real collab feature yet. Like, its 2024. If you use Cart To Link, it basically acts as a bridge so your sister can see the exact items and quantities without messing with shared accounts. Saved my sanity when we were picking out parts. Good luck with the Chicago wedding! Itll be fine... mostly.
