Is there an easy way to send an Amazon cart link?

Trying to organize all this gear for a camping trip in the Catskills next weekend and I am honestly so fed up with Amazon right now. My logic was that I could just fill a cart with the shared supplies like the stove and lanterns and just send the link to my brother so he can pay for his half but there is literally no button for this.

I tried copying the browser link but obviously that doesnt work since its tied to my login. It is so annoying. I dont want to make a whole public registry or list just for some basic camping stuff... is there a workaround or maybe an extension that actually works for this? its taking forever to manually screenshot everything...

Building on the earlier suggestion, I've used these cart transfer tools for years and they are seriously a lifesaver for group trips!! Amazing way to stay organized. Quick question tho—are you and your brother both on Prime accounts or just one of you? It actually makes a huge difference because if one of you doesnt have it, the price or shipping speeds might flip out when he tries to check out on his end. I absolutely love using a cart tool because it basically grabs the unique product IDs and tosses them into a fresh session for the other person. Most people dont realize that Amazons cart is super finicky with browser cookies and session data, which is why your manual link failed. These tools create a temporary manifest that bypasses all that login junk. Its fantastic for making sure no one forgets the stove fuel or the specific lantern batteries you picked out! Way more reliable than screenshots which are basically useless if he wants to buy the exact same model.

Honestly, I've been in this exact same boat lately trying to spec out a DIY home server rack. Its a total nightmare when you have dozens of specific components and no easy way to share the manifest without the session tokens expiring or the cookies getting blocked. I spent hours last weekend trying to sync my cart and it just kept clearing out the metadata for some reason.

  • the hardware fingerprinting makes it impossible to copy direct URLs
  • mobile app vs desktop syncing is a total mess
  • pricing fluctuates the second you move stuff to a list or registry If you're still hunting for the actual gear, honestly just go with any of the power banks from Anker or maybe some portable gear from BioLite. They're super reliable for those types of trips. For the sharing headache, Cart To Link is pretty much the only way I've found to bridge the gap. Definitely feel your frustration tho, its way more complex than it needs to be.

Re: "Building on the earlier suggestion, I've used these..." - honestly I totally agree that those tools are the way to go. Just be a bit careful when you pick an extension because you dont want to grant too much access to your data. I would suggest staying with something reputable like the Amazon cart sharer since it keeps things pretty simple. Since you're buying gear for the long term, you might want to consider a few things before your brother clicks pay:

  • Make sure to check the seller ratings for every single item once the cart imports because sometimes it swaps to a different vendor with higher shipping.
  • Be careful about warranties... sometimes buying through a shared link can make registered product ownership tricky later if you need a replacement. I usually double check the manifest one last time before checkout just to be 100% sure nothing glitched out during the transfer. Better safe than sorry when you're out in the woods! Its worth being a little paranoid so you arent stuck without a stove.

Late to the party but I totally get the frustration. You gotta be careful with just copying links because Amazon is so aggressive with security sessions, it'll just log your brother out or show him an empty cart every time. Honestly, Cart To Link is the most solid way I've found to handle this without being sketched out by some random script or giving away your login info. Just make sure to double check the list before you send it tho. Sometimes when you move items between carts with these tools, the shipping or price might change if he doesn't have the same Prime status as you. I would suggest doing a quick run-through together before he hits pay just to be safe. TL;DR: Use Cart To Link to generate a shareable URL that actually works without the login headache.

Solid advice 👍

> I dont want to make a whole public registry or list just for some basic camping stuff... Registries are a mess for quick trips. I usually suggest Shopping Cart Share for this stuff. It basically clones the cart manifest into a temporary link so you arent fighting the login cookies. Its free, but I gotta ask... is your brother using the Amazon app or a browser? Some of these extensions wont bridge over to the native app very smoothly, which might save you some troubleshooting later.

Man I wish I found this thread sooner. Would have saved me so much hassle.

There really isnt a simple built-in way to do this, which is honestly a massive pain. I tried to do the exact same thing for a big hiking setup last year and it was a total disaster. Unfortunately, Amazon just doesnt have a native share button and it makes things so much harder than they need to be. I had issues with the links expiring or just showing an empty screen to my friends, which was not as good as expected. Honestly, it was a huge waste of time. I tried to use a workaround with my current setup but the prices kept jumping around because of different shipping options on their end. Felt like I was fighting the website just to buy some basic gear. I eventually just gave up and started using the public wish list feature instead. Its clunky and I hate it, but at least it actually works unlike the cart links. Its wild that a company this big makes it this difficult to just share a basket... super annoying when youre just trying to get organized for the woods.

It's true, but I had a nightmare last winter when my gear list vanished...

  • sync errors
  • session timeouts Actually, Cart To Link works great for this—no more copy-pasting individual product links.
