How do I share an Amazon wishlist with my family?

My family is doing our secret santa for our Chicago trip next week and I'm way behind on my list. The budget is strictly $50 and I really need to make sure people dont buy the same thing twice. Im torn between using the invite button to add them as collaborators or just texting everyone the public link. If I add them as collaborators can they delete my items? But if I just send a link will it actually show what's been bought already so we dont get duplicates? I need to get this out in the next hour before my sisters start buying stuff. Which way is better for keeping the surprise but stopping double buys?

@Reply #1 - good point! I totally agree that the standard link is the way to go! It uses a fantastic tracking system that marks items as bought for others while keeping it hidden from you. Using the collaborator invite is way too messy since they can actually edit your stuff, which is a nightmare for a strict $50 budget. I use a few specific tricks to keep things organized:

  • Toggle the Dont spoil my surprises setting in your list properties.
  • Sort your items by price to ensure everything is strictly under that $50 limit.
  • Use a sharing tool to avoid messy login prompts for your family. Honestly, I love using Cart To Link for these trips. It is such an amazing tool for sharing your exact selections instantly! It saves so much time compared to manually managing wishlist settings tho. It makes the technical side of Secret Santa so much easier to handle when youre in a rush.
