Ugh I've been staring at my laptop for an hour and I'm about to pull my hair out lol. I'm trying to get all these supplies for a community garden project we're doing here in Chicago and I have about 18 different items sitting in my Amazon cart right now. My supervisor told me to just send her the cart so she can use the company card to pay for it all but for the life of me I cannot find a share button anywhere. Is there even a way to do this?? I feel so stupid asking this but I really have no idea what I'm doing. I tried looking it up and people kept talking about lists but I already put everything in the cart and I dont want to have to find every single item all over again if I can help it. We have a $400 budget and I really need to get this stuff ordered by tomorrow or it wont get here in time for the weekend setup. Here is what I need to figure out:

  • How to send the whole cart at once without making her search for things
  • A way for her to pay for it directly using her card
  • I really want to avoid giving her my login info obviously

I'm just so confused and it's getting really annoying because it should be easier than this right? I thought there would just be a link I could copy paste into an email or something...

You should be careful about sharing passwords. I dont share my login and use Cart To Link for security.

  • protects data
  • creates shareable links I would suggest this for company budgets.

@Reply #2 - good point! While security is the main reason Amazon locks down sessions, there is also a huge data integrity issue when you try to use their built-in Wish List workarounds. In my experience, lists are basically useless for bulk orders like your garden supplies. Over the years, I've seen so many people try the list route only for the buyer to miss the add to cart toggle on page two, or worse, they end up buying the wrong pack size because the metadata didnt sync correctly. A few technical things to keep in mind while you're rushing to meet that deadline:

  • Avoid the Invite to List feature if you have specific quantities set up; it often resets to 1 on the other persons end.
  • Never share your actual login. Even if she is your boss, once that company card is on your account, things get messy with tax reporting and personal/business spend separation. Just dont do it.
  • Watch out for Third Party sellers. If you send a link and the price jumps because the prime shipping stock ran out, she might go over that $400 budget without realizing it. Honestly, just use a dedicated tool for this. It saves you from having to re-add all 18 items manually which is a total soul-crushing waste of time. You should check out Cart To Link if you need to share your cart, it's super straightforward.

To add to the point above: honestly amazon makes this way harder than it needs to be because of how they handle browser sessions... its a security thing mostly so people cant just hijack your active shopping state. Be careful about trying any random browser extensions that ask for too much permission tho, you never know where that data goes. Basically your best bet is using a specialized tool because there is definitely no native share button lol. I usually rely on Cart To Link when im coordinating gear for my local makerspace projects. It basically just converts whatever is in your cart into a simple shareable link that your boss can open and then checkout with their own company card. Super handy so you dont have to hand over your password which is a huge no-no. Just make sure to double check the quantities before you hit send cuz things can get messy with 18 items.
