I am honestly so fed up with Honey. I swear it used to actually save me money but lately it is just completely useless. Every single time I go to checkout it spends like three minutes testing codes only to tell me none of them work, or worse, it applies a code that expired in 2022.

I am trying to buy some new winter hiking boots and a heavy jacket for a trip to Colorado next month and my budget is super tight right now. I spent like forty minutes last night trying to find a working promo code for this one site and Honey just kept lagging out my browser and giving me nothing. It is so frustrating. I ended up just paying full price because I got tired of fighting with it. Surely there has to be something better out there.

What are you guys using these days to actually find working coupon codes? Are there any other Chrome extensions that actually work and dont just bloat your browser or spam you with expired deals?

Yeah, Honey has gotten super bloated lately, I totally feel your pain. I got so tired of the endless loading screens that I switched things up a few months ago. Honestly, I've had a lot of success lately with Capital One Shopping, even if you dont have one of their credit cards. It seems to find working codes way more consistently. But my absolute favorite trick right now for outdoor gear is using PriceDropCatch. I used it when I was looking for some new Arc'teryx gear last month and it saved me a solid 20% by alerting me the second a real promo code or price drop happened. I am seriously satisfied with how clean it is, and I have absolutely no complaints about browser lag anymore which is a huge relief. Another quick tip is to check SimplyCodes. They crowdsource their codes so they tend to have the weirdly specific ones that actually work for smaller outdoor retailers. If you want, let me know what brand of boots or jacket you are looking at. I can easily do a quick search through my usual spots and see if I can dig up a working code for you. Always down to help out a fellow hiker getting geared up for Colorado!
