I totally disagree with the idea of sitting on the sidelines while everyone else is out there shooting. The tech in the current mirrorless stuff from Canon is just fantastic. Like, the sensor readout speeds and the deep-learning autofocus are already lightyears ahead of what we had a few years ago. Its totally amazing! If you keep waiting for the next version, youll never actually get out there. Any mirrorless Canon is gonna be a beast for whatever you need. Just grab any high-end Canon that fits your budget and start having fun. The gear is already so good that waiting for the next release feels like missing out on a year of awesome memories... go for it!

You'd better wait for R7 Mark III. It will be more powerful than R7 Mark II. 😎 😎 😎 

I am honestly in the exact same spot right now. Its such a headache trying to time these things perfectly without wasting a ton of cash. I have been obsessing over the technical data and sensor performance charts for weeks now, trying to figure out if my current setup is actually holding me back or if I am just being a spec-nerd. My experience so far:

• I almost pulled the trigger on a new body last month, but then I looked at the actual improvement in dynamic range and decided it wasnt worth the premium price tag.
• I realized that for the work I do, my gear still works well and I am super satisfied with the sharpness I am getting.
• I decided to hold onto my money for now because I dont want to deal with the immediate depreciation that happens the second a Mark II hits the shelves. Its hard tho because I really love new tech. I'm basically just waiting for a sign that the next one is actually a huge leap and not just a small refresh.
